Very nice work!

Not bad. I would try and add a little more color to the moon and planet. The look way too similar. I would also darken the shadows on them just a bit, and make the glow on the planet stand out a little bit more. Overall its a very nice piece though.

ok thanks :) I've just realised. The moon shouldn't have an atmosphere. But its still possible for a moon to have atmosphere, just doesn't look right, and the shadow needs to be bigger yes, I was working with small brightness thats why the shadow isn't strong enought.

I'm not sure how realistic it looks to have that celestial gas wafting between the planet and moon without the gravity of either affecting it... but it sure does -look- awesome! :D

The planet is moving past some gas, here: [link] made just for you

niiiiiice! The moon stands out really well, but looks rather similar to the planet (maybe add some sort of distinguishing feature). The moon, planet and background look a bit flat individually, but stand apart from each other, giving a bit of a 3D illusion ;) I like it!

I don't think the planet looks flat, I used spherize filter and shadow implies that it is a round sphere. I could change the moon but I like the way it looks, similar. :) Thanks for commenting :)

Yes. It does. :)
But my god you must have free time. 6 hours?!!?!
DRexySeamfire's avatar
yes :) I'm still experimenting with layer styles half way through creating a piece.

love the way you have the light

In my opinion, I think the "cloud" between the moon and the planet is not realistic. At that location, if there is any gas or matter, it will rather be a thin ring around the planet.
DRexySeamfire's avatar
But could it not be moving through some dust in space that has been left by a big comet? :) I see what you're saying that the wouldn't be that much gas next to a planet normally.
Stradivarius's avatar
I didn't think of this scenario. It's possible.

I would be concerned however for the people of that planet. Having a comet leaving that much dust on their orbit. They may meet the comet for real one day.
DRexySeamfire's avatar
Haha yes :) But the chances of that would be quite small if it was a comet from the outer region

It looks pretty realistic to me. I don't see how it could be done better.

I can't do outer space for the life of me.

Your cartoons are good, and I'm sure if you looked up some space tutorials you would be just fine. :)

I haven't been in outer space for a while, but I think it looks very realistic :alien:
