Absolute Solitude

By DrewHopper
This is where I spend most my time. Less than a 2 minute drive and I'm in paradise. I absolutely love the beaches along the East Coast of Australia. Most afternoons I head down to an empty coastline, not a soul on the beach. This is why I love photography, the solitude.

Brilliant. The more I look at your gallery the more I see that I like. I understand exactly what you mean about finding yourself in this sort of place. When I was studying I used to drive about 30 miles to find a really quiet beach when lectures were over for the day, then I'd walk till there wasn't enough light. Used to do the same thing when I was teaching - end of the day... show me the beach! I can't think when surrounded by people rabbiting on about "small things." I love people in small doses. My professional work is all about helping others overcome their fears. Time out is invigorating for me. I love the desert, the bush, the coasts!

hiya, before i comment i wanted to tell you i just added you
90% of my deviations from AUSphotography has been from you :giggle:

so... woah :omfg:
i love it
the colours are nice and striking, they just jump out to me :D
although in my opinion the sky seems to dull the over all impact of the photo,
it by no means kills it.
i love the "woosh back" effect. :D or possible forward, i cant tell :giggle:
Slow shutter speed or a filter? either way its great :D
i think my favourite part is the sheen over the sand, its as if the water isnt there

sorry for my not such a great comment, its hot over here!
anywho, great work

Great shot Drew, can I ask what the meta data is?

I'm guessing only 2 seconds or somewhere there abouts?

The water looks like glass - Simply beautiful

Can't remember but it was much longer than 2 seconds.

I can't complain....I live close to a lot of good things, too....but we always want what we don't have. :D

Did you get the 100mm hitech filters, or a different size?

Your photography has been really exceptional lately. Keep up the good work.

Nah I got the cheaper smaller ones, can't remember the sizing sorry. Glad you think so mate, keep watching :)

They seem to work fine for you wide angle stuff, may have to consider those. Do they fit into the p-holder by cokin?

you just gave me something to think about then. I was all set for the larger ones.
