You know, DeviantART is one of those odd places for me, a kind of love-hate relationship. I feel a lot of kinship to the community here because of the impact it had on my life when I was younger. That being said, I'm at a point where I've mostly moved on. It is weird to think of it as 'official' or anything, but in the grand scheme of things I feel like a proper farewell is deserved. I might drop by from time to time to share a story or reply to a comment, though that can hardly be considered participating in the community.

So yeah, I've been moving over the last few days so the internet hasn't been a priority. Anyways, I got tagged, so let's do this... Sorry, ViperDerg, I can't be bothered to copy/paste the rules.

1. Talk about a piece of art that changed your life. Can be any medium.
Edward Burtynsky's lanscape photographs. I don't really want to write about them though. I did enough of that in art school. 

2. Is there anything you like that you're ashamed of liking? (You can just say yes or no, you don't have to share what it is).
Eh, the internet has numbed me to personal shame lol.

3. Do you feel apathetic about politics?
I do care about politics, but more feel helpless because as an individual it's hard to make a significant change.

4. If you could visit any one state in the US tomorrow which would you go to?
Hawaii. Or Florida. I wanna go to Didney wurl!

5. If you could see any one musical act from when they were at the peak of their popularity/success, who would you see?
Hrm... There's too many. Probably Pink Floyd "The Wall"

7. If you have are a furry/have a fursona, do you see that fursona as "you", or just a character?
A mix of both; swaying towards the 'me' side, or metaphorical representation of me. Although to keep it less serious he is also a character, if that makes any sense.

Dragon suit. He's worth more than my car lol.

10. Pokemon, yay or nay?
Haha, I used to like Pokemon, back in the good ol' days (Elementary School) until an older kid stole my shiny zapdos and my parents wouldn't help me get it back from him. After that I hated it of course

As some of you may know, Transfur was the first site I ever found related to the furry fandom
(apart from DA, which in a way doesn't really count). At the time I was very closed up about 
the whole transformation problem I have and I didn't know that other people were interested 
in transformation like I was.

After finding that site I made it my goal to be able to draw well enough to be on Transfur. At 
that time it was the site for Transformation art and quite a classy place. Well, I'm very 
excited! Today I got an e-mail saying my application for an artist profile has been accepted. 
It has been over six years since I decided I was going to learn how to draw, and about two
years of seriously buckling down and practicing. I finally made it. 

Huzzah!

I wrote this big long journal about how I've been burnt out on writing recently; but I don't think you need to read all that. I came to one conclusion:

The biggest thing stopping me from writing is me.

I can blame it on practically anything; having a regular 9 - 5 job, being busy, university, traveling, but the fact really is that I'm the one who has created this wall and made writing not enjoyable for me. 

The hardest part is going to be to just start writing again; no enforcing deadlines, no concern about grammar or characterization or whatever. Just writing for the sake of writing...

A few notes that I guess are important:

• TFtales is still in Limbo. I would like to bring it back and see it thrive, but I do not wish to administrate the group any more. Once I'm back home (mid March) I'm going to pull all the admins together and have a discussion to see if any of them wants to take on the group.
• Short stories: I may or may not write one-shots again. They stopped being fun a while back (and I feel like anything now I want to write should be 'deep' and 'meaningful', which is hard to manage). If I do write something I'll post it here for sure. 
• Long-term projects: I want to get back on track with a group project I was working on - those of you involved know which one - I think that'll happen in March as well once I'm back home. As well, I want to finally edit (rewrite) my first novel. This wouldn't be for DA delivery. I'd try and get it published in print first. 
• Art: my inspiration for drawing comes and goes; though I tend to post more of that on FA than here.
• Nanowrimo: I've decided I'm done with it. The volunteering at least. Whether or not I'll write it again remains to be seen. I might post some unfinished stuff from a previous Nano since it's TF related; and while poorly written, it is a rather dark and interesting story.
