ZBrush - Week 6 - Fallen Hound - Close-Up by Dreamspirit ZBrush - Week 6 - Fallen Hound - Close-Up by Dreamspirit
Digital Sculpture Completed on February 28, 2013

This is a close-up of this sculpture. :)

This is my "sort of" my ninth model in ZBrush, as it is a continuation of another sculpture I did a few weeks ago (my second sculpture in ZBrush, actuallly). It is a piece of fan art based on the Fallen Hound from Diablo III.

I tightened up my sculpture and added additional wrinkles, detail, opened the mouth, added Fibermesh for the crest of hair, restructured the bust, and then I went to town painting him/her. The views on this image shows the progression I've made this week.

I agree with what ~Waze said, I think a rougher bump map on the teeth would really make the piece. I really like it.

Thanks for the feedback! Looking at it now, I realize that while I went in and detailed and refined the beasty, I really never went back and improved the teeth to the same level of detail or refinement, so you can bet now that you and ~Waze pointed it out, I'll be going back to improve my sculpt. :)

Thanks again for the honest feedback!

Anytime, it's a really good model and very well done.

I like the texture of the skin - I would see what it would look like if you made the warts and all those things more pronounced though. The hair is rather perfect.
It's a good start, but maybe you could do something about the teeth, make them a bit less clean perhaps, so they wouldn't stand out so much? The eye seems to be incomplete too.
Other things I love, like the veins inside its ear, the sort of slimy-shiny texture of the skin (maybe you could add more of that effect around the mouth like it was drooling?), and the wrinkles turned out very life-like too! (:

Thank you so very much for not only the compliments, but your honest and extremely helpful critique. I spent so much time poking the head that the teeth really do look a bit out of place there, so I'll make sure to go back and try to improve them and tighten things up.

I don't know how I would go about doing droll in ZBrush, but I'll try to see if I can figure out that one too. :)

Again: thank you for the incredible constructive feedback, and for taking the time to leave me a comment! I really appreciate it. :)
