Just a reminder: PLEASE READ the introduction and rules before submitting work to the group.

Dreams-and-reveries is dedicated to art inspired by the dreams of the artist. Since there's no limit on the number of dreams you have and the stuff that happens in them, the possibilities are pretty endless.

Any art you feel like making based off some of your memorable dreams are TOTALLY ENCOURAGED. Feel free to tell detailed, lengthy stories of your dream to accompany your deviation. Or maybe if you just feel like talking about your weird dream. It's okay, we like that kind of thing here.

Some ground rules for submitting work:

:bulletpurple: Visual art and literature both allowed. Videos are not recommended, but will be considered for submission.

:bulletpurple: Quality is taken into account when considering whether a deviation will be featured.

:bulletpurple: Art should only be inspired directly by the dream of the artist, or possibly the dream of the commissioner.
Please do not submit or suggest art that is based upon the concept of dreams or nightmares, portrays someone sleeping or dreaming, or is meant to be appear surreal or dreamlike UNLESS it is based upon an actual dream.

:bulletpurple: Daydreams considered case-by-case.

:bulletpurple: If you are unsure about whether or not a deviation is based upon a real dream, contact the artist to be certain before suggesting.

Hello all, thank you very much to our members and watchers who have joined or continued to stay with the group over the past few years.
I recently returned to dA after a long time being away and am proud and glad to see the group still active and accepting new submissions all the time. However, I am still not as active a member as I used to be and I find that that may be unfair to those artists who would like to see their dreams displayed in our gallery, who may have their submissions time out before having the chance to be overseen.

If you are an active member of the group, or at the very least an active member of dA, and have interest in the basic oversight of submissions to the group, consider administrating the group. The only duty required is that an admin view group submissions, confirm or deny whether the piece of art in question is based on a dream that the artist had, and accept or reject it to the group gallery on that basis. Potentially, an admin may need to check that art is being submitted to the appropriate folder (ex. characters don't go in the "Dreamscape" folder.) If you have any interest please PM me. Thanks!

That's fine. Unfortunately I've rejected a few of your deviations from the group because it wasn't clear that the work you submitted was explicitly based on a dream you had, other than the Pink Alligator. If you'd like to resubmit specific deviations, please clarify that they are in fact based on dreams (and not the concept of dreams or dreamlike imagery, etc.) Thank you for submitting!

I have a picture I drew of a fountain I saw in a dream I had, I did it on a sketchpad, I just don't know where it would go. I have pictures I took both of the individual fountain, and of each individual basin. I'm confused. I read the rules, but what would something like this be categorized under? Can anyone help please?

don't worry about categories and just submit it to featured, we'll sort it later.

Do visions recieved during trance-like states of meditation also count as dreams?

Only if it was enacted as a narrative. Can you describe it here?
ObakeDreams Featured By Owner Oct 18, 2012  Professional General Artist
Could be considered so, yes.
