this is really nice...like some scene from Venice (viva la serenissima Venezia;))...really!!! because you placed some building like some palace with thin windows that reflect on wet stone or some water - refer on venetian canal...but the most, I think that this can't stands without man with umbrella...excellent scene...I can't write anymore, but you deserve 'watch'...;)

indeed this is Venice! I was there last year's November. Actually the man standing alone was me, listening to the mesmerizing sound of a lonely cello that went out a window of the music academy. It was a somewhat estranged place, nobody on sight, a thin and gentle rain coming down, and the sound coming out of nowhere surrounding everything. After a day spent in conference rooms and hearing real estate/urban planning nonsense, I felt magic still exists: this is a snapshot of this memory of mine.

Heh, it's bit too late for considering this option, Ben. Actually I gave this painting as a present to an extraordinary person who lives in Venice.

Well it's been a long time since you last posted a pic, you should post more often. And I've written quite a bit of my story, when you have some free time, you could check it out. I just love this pic of yours, the coloring is awsome.

It is somehow relieving to know you appreciate it, kenny. To be honest, I live deeply in fear of colours: I can't help thinking they are like wild beasts out of control, and they turn against me whenever I try to tame them into a frame.

You are bang on correct, this pic is about a discovery I did a couple of weeks ago while wandering the alleys of Venice. I just tried to nail down this memory before it could fall apart. True wonders happen when least you expect them! .. and thanks a lot for your appreciation!

Oh, please, stop flattering me! [link]
To be honest, I feel rather relieved by your comments: I always have had a difficult relationship with colours, especially when I have to nail down my daydreaming on canvas. This picture is somehow bound to a recent discovery two weeks ago. I was walking alone in Venice under a thin rain, and found myself into a little, desert place. There was this palace in front of me (I guess a music school) and a lonely cello resounding through the windows. I don't really know how long I did spend there, but I was hypnotised by the music, or rather... the song of that solitary cello.... oh well, enough ramblings for today!
