Interview with @vampire-zombie
Commercial and Fashion Photography Week Today I am very happy to present this interview that I conducted with vampire-zombie (https://www.deviantart.com/vampire-zombie) aka Julia Trotti! Julia has been a member of DeviantArt for 10 years and has submitted over 850 deviations! Not only is she prolific, she has also built a strong reputation throughout the photography community for her fashion photographs with a wonderfully natural, free-spirited feel. Thank you so much Julia for taking the time to let me interview you!  Your work has inspired me for a very long time, and I know that many photographers on DeviantArt feel the same way! One of the things that is really striking about yo

Studio vs. Location
Commercial and Fashion Photography Week Fashion photography is often about creating a feeling or atmosphere that enhances the styling in the photoshoot. Whenever I start planning a photoshoot, there is one BIG question I start off with and that is "Studio or Location?" There are many reasons to choose one or the other depending on the type of shoot you are looking to create, and today we're going to discuss the pros and cons of both. Advantages and Disadvantages of Studio Shooting in the studio can elevate your photos and give them a clean, minimal look, but it can also be cost-prohibitive. To do a studio photoshoot (with artificial light)

Exclusive tricks for ladybug macro photography!
Hi, everybody! In this tutorial, I want to tell you something about my biggest passion: Ladybug photography. Many people asked me how to achieve the crisp sharp images while getting as close to the ladybug as possible. I actually did not learn these tips from the internet, I made them up for myself. And I want to share them. So continue to read. ;) 1. What is a ladybug? Ladybugs belong to the family of Coccinellidae. The most common one is red and has black spots. The amount of spots is NOT telling you how old the ladybug is (many people may think like that) ;) They tell you the species, depending on the amount of dots and the location. Lad

2014 // 8 BEFORE AND AFTER EDITS
I just saw and remembered this journal entry I made about a year ago: { 2013 // 8 before and after edits } Thought I'd make one for this past year. They're not at all as ""dramatic"" as a year ago, which I LIKE! Now I can finally look at my photos without feeling like my eyes are bleeding from all the colours. I don't know any other way to describe that right now haha.. Also I've stepped out of the 1x1 format which feels G:eyes:D! 2014 All the photos shown above: { clickable ↓ }

Update! Photography, Faith, and More.
 Hey everyone, long time no talk! I just wanted to give you all a bit of an update about what's been going on with me. I know I haven't been all that present in the web world lately, and though I miss it, it's because times have been changing. I'm a sophomore in college studying journalism, and believe it or not, journalism is a pretty extensive major at my school. I've been quite busy with projects and other assignments. And I've been getting pretty good at interviewing people! Haha. I've been spending a lot of time doing photography lately, and I've been trying to post some of my favorite pieces here when I get them. I just got a new camer

Thin is NOT equal to anorexic
Do you want to know what gets on my nerves? What rubs me the wrong way?  What grates on my very being?  When people comment on photos that somebody is "too thin," "too skinny," and/or "should eat a hamburger."  It's especially annoying when the person in the photo is healthy. Do people write too much about this subject?  Probably.  I've read a million things about it, but the constant harassment is still there.  I see it everywhere, this constant put-down of people that work hard for the healthy body they have or even the body they were born with and can never seem to get rid of no matter how much they eat.  Why are some people so obsessed wi
