I disagree. Many popular artists are good artists because they practice and work hard. Luck and "natural talent" can only get you so far. I lot of my friends are super good artists and they say the best way to get good at art is to practice.
I was talking about how certain people can get commissions whilst others can't. Then a popular artist said the reason why that was is because people can't afford it. Which is wrong.
They may be true, but I can see their point as well. Some people don't have a lot of money to spend, or say (in my case) their parents put a few dollars in every month and they don't have the luxury of by art pieces they like when there's other things to pay for. Was it wrong to assume people weren't but commissions they couldn't pay for? Yes, but there's always a reason behind it.
I know it's one of the reason why people don't commission. But I am talking about why people are struggling to get commissions, and having just broke people come to us doesn't make any sense, if they can afford other peoples work, then why not ours? And then I explained to them why it was.
