I made a bunch of different lights to help nail down a few critical points of modelling in Blender and using Iray shaders in Daz Studio. Figured I'd share the result with anyone who may want it... Tis the season, after all! They may be simple, but given the right scene and arrangement, simple lights can do wonders for the mood of an image!

I hope you find them useful! I would love to see any projects they make their way into.

As always, questions, comments and criticisms are welcome.

Happy holidays and happy dazzing to everyone!

*Note, the room is not included in this package. Just the lights!

..and thank you for taking the time to include all files in the rar :-) works like a charm and performs excellent!
DrBoots's avatar
Haha, glad I could finally get the package put together properly. Enjoy!

:-) the package I just downloaded did not contain the .dsf files, it's basically the same folder structure only this time the data folder has been added before the DrBoots folder - placing the .duf files in the data folder instead - what's required is the DrBoots folder as it was and a separate /data/DrBoots/(light name here)/(light name).dsf files
DrBoots's avatar
Sorry about that! Been misreading .dsf as .duf. Uploaded again, this time with the .dsf files included in the data folder! Third time's the charm, right?
knallis's avatar
:-( No, I manually copied the folder to my d:\DAZ\My Library - from what I can find in the .rar, the structure is:
Lights Package 1 - DrBoots - files: Floor Lamp 1, Rectangle Light 1, Chandelier 2, Chandelier 1, Geometric Light 1, Cube Light 1, Cube Light 2 .duf and .png

boostermd's point was correct! I've uploaded an updated package. Give it a shot now and let me know if it works! Should be able to just drop the "data" folder into your My Library directory.
boostermd's avatar
You are not alone. The "data/" folder is not in the Package.
DrBoots's avatar
Right you are! Updating now!
boostermd's avatar
Oops, you misunderstood me.
Your Package should have a data folder with .dsf files
and a folder with .duf files.
DrBoots's avatar
Oh god. That one letter makes all the difference, haha. Thanks for clarifying! I've been reading ".dsf" as ".duf" this entire time! Uploaded again. data and DrBoots folder are both included this time, .dufs and .dsfs!

I am glad that I could help :D (Big Grin).

BTW nice work.

P.S. you should look at your Free Shorts
DrBoots's avatar
Ahh! Thanks for the tip, I've updated the shorts accordingly! I guess this is why I'm doing this: to learn the process. Thanks to people like you, I'll learn it sooner rather than later!

Am I the only one getting errors due to missing dsf  files? (/data/DrBoots/Rectangle Light 1/Rectangle Light 1.dsf)
DrBoots's avatar
Heyo! Double checked the package and all the dsf's are there. Did you extract to this directory: C:\Users\user\Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library?
