1) What's their FULL NAME (First, middle(s), last)?

David John Burton

2) Do they have siblings? If so, what are their names/ages?

Dave's an only child. His parents felt they did well enough, no need to overpopulate.

3) What were they like in their elementary, middle, and high school phases? 

-Elementary: That cute, unfathomably adorable kid that seemed too perfect. Always behaved, always had his homework done, super polite and helpful, smart, and got along with just about anyone so long as they weren't mean. Nobody had anything bad to say about little David!

-Middle: Dave was starting to ride more with his parents so not only was he smart, good looking, and nice, now he had cool horses and was pretty athletic in the sense of equitation even though he wasn't big into picking up any sports. He tried soccer once, thought that was fine until he got cleat stomped, he was done with it after that. This was the time he was also starting to get a little cocky about his upbringing. He didn't gloat about it but he certainly knew he had it pretty good compared to some of his other peers. He was pulled from his first school and put in a higher education school to meet his growing needs for better education.

-High: Straight A's, 100% attendance, a solid showjumping future ahead of him, and madly in love with his future wife to be. This was the golden era of Dave's life. He spent his free time from school and horse riding to dabble in more adventurous activities such as jet skis, skydiving, racing motorcycles at midnight, etc. Anything to get the adrenaline going!

4) What is their hometown? 

Somewhere, Iceland - one of those cities. (dras is too lazy to go pick one to avoid the "uhm actually" critics because I'm culturally constipated.)

5) Did they go to college? If so what for? And did they graduate? 

Dave has a Master's Degree in Communication of some sort. Dras is too dumb(and doesn't care) to go look up specifics. He speaks/understands several different languages including braille and sign language. He chose not to learn Russian because he didn't want to know what his wife was muttering at him when they got in an argument… smart move, Dave. Smart move.

6) Are they married, single, in a relationship, or crushing on someone who has no idea? 

Dave is very happily married to his wife, Helena. He loves her dearly.

Helena is his one and only forever <3

8) How do they get along with that person?

Dave and Helena have an up and down relationship. Helena definitely has the pants of the two of them. They do tend to get into arguments mostly over the children but they'd never let it get to the point where any rash decisions were made. So Dave might have to sleep on the couch for the night but he'll be up at 3 am to wish her a good day at work, make her breakfast and be sure she knows how beautiful she looks. And she'll make sure that Dave keeps his head out of the clouds and his feet on the ground when he's being quite silly. They take care of each other and don't expect the other to carry everything on their own.

9) What's your favorite canon moment that's happened and no one else knows about?

Dave has been riding a horse with a cream gene and he doesn't know it but the rest of us do and I can't wait to shatter his little heart when he finds out his "black" horse has a little smoky to her~ he's in super denial.

10) Do they have kids? Do they want kids? 

Dave has three kids; Chris (16), Abigail (10), and Daniel (4). He went for a pattern there… actually, Daniel was an oopsie child but he's loved all the same xD he doesn't think he could manage a fourth kiddo. He's struggling enough with the three he has now.

11) What do they currently do in the stable?

Dave's primary position is to compete for the stable. He doesn't do the majority of training but will polish up an advanced horse to his liking to produce better results. Occasionally, he does cover instructing during his downtime but doesn't publicly advertise himself as an instructor. Somebody's gotta know somebody to get Dave.

12) Do they have a job outside the stable?

Hs does not. He relies on his earnings from the shows and what the stable pays him.

13) How do they entertain themselves?

Oh. Give Dave a fine bottle of champagne and he'll find ways to keep himself preoccupied, no problem. He still has a playful streak when he's had a bit to drink and may find himself in all sorts of predicaments.

14) What's their biggest fear?

Harm coming to anyone in his family. Nobody hurts his babies and nobody touches his wife.

15) How do other people see them? Does this affect them or do they brush it off?

A few different ways.

There's those that see him as an overbearing father that doesn't let his children out of the yard. And then there's those that see him as a cooky drunk with no concept of responsibility. And finally, the snotty rich man with a stick up his butt and is no fun to be around.

And Dave would disagree with each of those statements because there's more to the situations than the brief window of time people deem "his lifestyle".

He would never admit it out loud (yes, he would) but he does find the mislabels offensive because he's too blind to understand the truths they speak about him. :")

16) Do they have exes? If so what's their name, what happened </3

No exes. Helena is his sweetheart and always has been <3

17) Do they have a strong relationship with their parents?

His mother, Mary, passed some years ago from a heart condition. He always got along with her as she was a fun and loving mother always supportive of his decisions. His father remained in Iceland after his mother passed but they still have a good relationship. John was never as enthusiastic as Dave's mother was but they didn't get into any arguments and has always been proud of Dave.

18) How often do they see them?

Dave tries to make a yearly trip back to Iceland with the family, if he can, to visit the stomping grounds and see grandpa John.

19) Why did they not go to bed until 4 am?

Oh, lots of scenarios.

Scenario 1: just flew in from some show across the country or in a different country altogether. Have to make sure there's coffee ready for the wife and the kids are ready for school in the morning.

Scenario 2: Oops, Dave said something stupid or did something stupid and now Helena has argued him right out of the bedroom where he's condemned to the couch for the night. He'll spend the rest of the night brooding, thinking he was in the right. Give it an hour or two and he'll realize how wrong he was. By sunrise, he's buttering her up to get back on her good side again.

Scenario 3: Aw, Daniel had a bad dream and woke up crying. Since Helena has to be up in a few hours, Dave is the one to go check on him. He's convinced he needs to come sleep with Daddy for safety. Off to the parents' room so they can get some sleep. Just as he's falling asleep again, here comes Abi creeping in with concern that something was wrong. Now she's worried too. There's kiddo number two to share a bed with. Is it even worth trying to sleep anymore?

20) Can they do tricks?

Remember that champagne from before...it makes Dave do all sorts of tricks~

21) Are they pretty much the same through the stages (toddler-adult) or have they gotten more mature? Less mature? etc.

For the most part, Dave is pretty mature. Every now and again, he can do or say something quite childish but it's usually in response to his rebellious son or if he's had too much to drink.

22) Do they have a phobia?

Not what I'd call a phobia because he isn't afraid of them but he does have a strong irrational distaste in any horse with more than the letters 'e' and 'a' in their genome x"D

23) What's their favorite animal?

Not a big animal fan. Horses are fine so long as they behave. Other than that, he's not really fond of other animals.

24) What's in their fridge? You heard me.

Fancy things~ Dave's a bit of a cook and prefers to cook his family meals if he has the time. He got really good at making Beef Wellington for his wife when she was pregnant with one of the kids and that was her craving.

25) Give us a secret~

Dave still secretly teaches some of his horses how to jump sideways. He won't say which ones and he won't share how he does it and few have seen him practice it in the wee hours of the morning.

26) How would they react to a random confession text from their crush?

It would take him about five minutes to get to the text to read it and then ohohohoooo~ the kids may need a babysitter for the night.

27) What do they fear losing the most?

His family is the most important thing to him no matter what. He'd give his own life to protect them at any time. Even in the worst of times, he loves them dearly.

28) What was their worst injury as of now?

A couple of nasty falls from farting around on horses in stupid ways coat him some broken ribs and fingers but nothing major. His worst injury was playing around with his good childhood friend, Nate, on a fishing boat. They were trying to figure out if the harpoon would fire because of how badass would that be. Turns out, yea, it fired and Dave got thirty-seven stitches up his arm for that stupidity. He's lucky he didn't get impaled instead.

29) Which of their parents do you think they take after more, in looks, personality, or both?

Looks - he is a carbon copy of his father.

Personality - is a mix of the two. The maturity and social life of his father and the playfulness of his mother.

30) If they're on their deathbed who would they want by their side? (Can have 3 and only 3!)

His wife for sure, his oldest son Chris, and his good friend, Fabian.
