1.) Lacey was traded around as a filly. She never had a chance to make friends because she was always moving barns. This made her anti-social. Why bother?
2.) What she can remember from her mother was unpleasant. She remembers her mother kicking her away anytime she would come to nurse. She hated that the humans tried to replace her mother with a plastic bottle. Lacey believes that the humans were the true cause of why her and her mother didn't get along. She has a slight distaste for humans.
3.) Lacey learned while she was being transferred from barn to barn that beauty had power. The pretty horses were treated better and were generally better off than the scraggly, ill-mannered horses. This has caused her to be concerned about her looks. She'd brush it off if she was asked about it, but in her heart it's a genuine worry.
4.) Nothing irritates Lacey more than being bossed around. If you haven't earned her respect, she won't give it to you either.
5.) Lacey doesn't seem to get along with others. She builds a barrier before she even gives them a chance. This makes her a very independent mare.
6.) Lacey does not get along with beginner riders. She needs a knowledgeable rider that knows cues and how to separate their body (legs, seat, hands, etc.) Beginner riders make her frustrated and balk up.
7.) To get Lacey's attention, sacrifice a strip of fine satin. She loves bows....
8.) Lacey will refuse to come out of her stall if she knows it's raining or if it's muddy outside. She has been known to fling herself across aisles and drag handlers if they try to make her go out. Just forget it and leave her inside...
