(keep scrolling down, there's a summary way down there, no need to suffer for details <''3)

------------------------------------------------------
NOTE: English is not Tuli's native language; he's learning some words but it's very broken between him and Jarin. I'm not going to provide Tuli's language in his tongue; it will be presented in English. This is because I don't want to provide mis-translations (it's not the point here) and Tuli speaks a language that is very close to what we know as Icelandic but it has slightly different inflections, terms, slang, pronunciations, etc. Sort of like how American, England, and Australian "English" are not quite the same. And I'm not going to invent a whole new language. So, everything is typed in English but Tuli is not speaking English, I do my best to explain situations where they do and don't understand each other. <3
------------------------------------------------------

Iceland began as a roller coaster. On the plane ride over, the boys were already making plans to join in on the next phase of the AQHR series they had just participated in! Jarin was thinking of dialing it back and just handling some simple Pas De Deux or the like. Something a little less reckless even though their last pursuit was rather successful. Jarin knew Fabian would expect Tuli to have a little more basic understanding of the fundamentals (coming from his Spanish Riding School background). Jarin would gleefully help Tuli form a routine together! He had no doubt they would be able to accomplish something!
Before the plane even had a chance to land, Tuli could sense a drastic change within the confines of the flying metal tube. It was…dense but…not solid, looming but not flowing like a tidal wave stuck in place. He couldn't quite pinpoint what the feeling was coming from. Looking over at the corpse of Jarin dead asleep, it had to be something magical. No one else seemed bothered either. He was the only magical being there…presumably and the only one that seemed unnerved.
Just as Tuli sighed and tried to settle himself, the turbulence began. The plane shook like it was skipping over choppy waters and there came an awful creaking groan from the walls. Tuli could tell the plane dropped a considerable height, enough even the magicless individuals all began to murmur and stir about. He could pick up a few speaking a language he could actually understand and gathered it was not normal for their metal tubes to make that kind of noise. Tuli tipped his head, squinting at them. Now you're concerned? He dearly hoped one day they would evolve and pick up magic for the safety of their species.
“Huh, are we landing?” Jarin snorted as the plane groaned and tipped yet again, this time causing the overhead lights to come on and people stirred more nervously.
Tuli didn't have the time to answer before a voice came overhead, instructing everyone to wake up, put their seatbelts on, and trays upright as they were experiencing heavy turbulence and to remain seated. Unsurprisingly, that set about mild panic amongst hushed whispers and flight attendants securing everyone properly.
“This happens sometimes,” Jarin quickly sputtered to Tuli, following instructions like the good boy he was. Tuli stared across at Jarin blankly… he had no idea there was a dense pull of magic trying to rip into the plane. Too much for the simple walls of a plane to pressurize. Did these people not know how to reinforce for this very reason? Had he ever been to Tuli's homeland? Land of powerful magic. Happens sometimes? This was the might of the "Iceland" that Tuli knew. Even so, this force of magic was not behaving the same as he remembered it.
The plane rumbled again and the lights flickered, stirring a few concerned yelps around the cabin. Tuli wondered just how long they had until the windows would give in or the walls crumpled. Perhaps the wings would split off first. He sighed, knowing he was the only one there that really knew what was happening… sort of. He had a good idea anyway.
Confined to his seat wasn't a problem. For some reason, magic wanted to be pulled into the plane at high rates which was odd if he was the only one around to use it; he wasn't pulling at it so something else had to be. But so long as he could convert it, use it, he could encourage it to flow back to its source. In theory, anyway. As long as Tuli had to hone his magic skills, he was not born a natural. He had to work harder and was self taught to understand it out of sheer necessity rather than inborn skill.
Something basic. From his limited magical strengths, one that wouldn't be so obvious, Tuli felt bending the light might be his best bet. He could make something simple invisible. Easy. Something no one would miss. He glanced down at his lap belt. Bingo.
Tuli scowled as what he thought ought to have made the belt disappear hardly even made it so much much as glimmer. Ugh. Light magic. Always so fickle in his hands. But there was so much potent magic, almost as much as at the castle but this kind was running so rampant, he figured it was be so easy to harness. Maybe it's choppy behavior was why it was being difficult. He huffed and tried much harder to harness it to his will, waving his hands in unison to physically direct it.
Tuli saw the whole belt vanish successfully but nearly bit his own tongue off, hearing a chorus of blood curdling screams and cries! Just as he looked up to see what the horror was, he felt Jarin plow his face into his shoulder-
“Ah-” Tuli's eyes widened, realizing the cause for alarm.
It happened again. Just like at the castle. He meant to just make the belt inconspicuously vanish but with the weird influx of this rampant magic being difficult to control properly, he had made the entire outer shell of the plane vanish! It seems reasonable for those unaware to start wailing, crying, other bodily fluids flying as all they could now see was the distant sunrise over a beautiful continent of land and the vessel responsible to carry them there safely was suddenly gone!
It wasn't like it was actually gone. It was just… invisible. But they didn't know that as the screams and shouting continued.
"Sorry," Tuli muttered quietly to himself. He grimaced at the cacophony, guilty for being responsible for the panic. They all thought they were dead, after all. He scrambled up more magic to try and right the mistake. Edit, undo. No problem! There was plenty of magic that came rushing back, tipping the plane almost sideways, stirring more helpless screaming as they all lurched downward to stare at the approaching glint of the ocean below.
“It's okay! Just stay in your seat!” Jarin called over the chaos to reassure Tuli. His seat was against the wall and he had one hand now dug into Tuli's arm (crushing it) and the other where the window should be so he knew they weren't all totally doomed. But on closer inspection... Jarin just had his eyes squeezed shut instead. Okay. Note to self: Jarin was not helpful in times of panic.
Tuli knew this magic wasn't right but when it came back around, it came like a jet stream stabbing at Tuli. Very temperamental, almost spiteful to be used! Tuli lurched forward, feeling like he was being pierced through his heart again. Wasn't the worst he ever had done to him. He growled below the sounds of screaming, forcing the magic bend back. Sheathing a spell shouldn't be this much work but it was like trying to swim against rapids.
“We will be conducting an emergency landing!” The captain instructed with a shaky voice followed by a repetition of commands.
Tuli managed to force an eyelid open, feeling like it was made of concrete. The spell had been undone. Cool. He slammed his eye shut again, leaning his face against the seat in front of him, unable to sit up. His strength was gone. This magic was weird. He hated this place. When were they leaving? Oh right. They hadn't even landed yet. He groaned.

Merry Christmas, btw xD
I have no christmas art. I just happened to finish this and so I'll toss it up~ Hope the holiday season was well for you!

The boys have made it to Iceland! Sort of~ Basically -SPOILER- they aren't gonna make the show xD I've been too busy working on all sorts of other things and it's just not gonna happen but that's okay! I have lots of other plans anyway! And it starts with weird antics of Iceland and the chaos crew~ I think it's safe to say at this point Tuli might harbor some of the natural chaos Jarin carries too xD Maybe a different brand but it's there lololol

Enjoy a dumb doodle and a fun story~ I am loving Chaos Crew~

"Before the plane even had a chance to land, Tuli could sense a drastic change within the confines of the flying metal tube" I acknowledge that there are story things following this but my headcanon is that it's baby's first ear pressure change

"Something no one would miss. He glanced down at his lap belt." Boy your magic will summon the fury of a flight attendant

So Tuli is also a "fix it but actually make it worse" kind of guy, huh. Two peas in a pod, these two :lmao:
