Follows after: n.a. This is more of an origin story~
Does follow parallel alongside other Beaurever stories but correlates to this the most:

With ears directed ahead, Natas stood and watched from a distance, just out of sight. He watched the red mare follow the human boy to the dock. Willingly? Peculiar. His eerie sky blue eyes and pin point white pupils scanned over the fellow Beaurever. Why was she concealing her lineage? She had no magic prowess, that much was clear. So why pose as something she was not?
He watched as they through themselves into the waters before them. He watched them both surface and then he was gone.
With ears directed ahead, Natas watched through the trees. Another one of his kind. Another red mare. This time carrying a larger human. She had no magical aspirations either. Were all of the Beaurevers without magic so willing to pair with humans? Was it a kind of compensation to make up for what they both lacked in power?
His ears twitched, his eyes darted to the side of him. Curious. Did the sheep really not notice him there? His ear twitched again and his eyes followed. A wolf. The wolf had its sight set on the sheep, unwilling to see anything else. Foolish, Natas thought, looking back at the Beaurever and human pair. Even when the sheep darted into the pasture and the wolf taking chase, Natas watched the pair in the pasture.
He watched the red mare bolt forward and the human take aim. He watched the bright burst from the barrel, the bullet zip past his body, and then he was gone.
He watched another powerless Beaurever with the human boy take interest in hatchlings and then he was gone.
He watched them finally discovering magic. Would they understand their connections? Would they feel the pull? His eyes watched them fail and then he was gone.
He watched and his ears pricked. This one. This one had potential. Would the boy notice? Could he? Could humans ever understand? Would this grey stallion teach him? Would he learn? Would the stallion keep his magic to himself? He watched as they danced. No magic. None at all, but he had every ability to use it if he wanted to. Natas watched them return to the barn and then he was gone.
He watched from the window, in the shade of the trees. The bay, the grey; they had all the potential to wield their magic. Why did they keep it from the humans? Why was it sealed away in their presence? Why? He watched as the bay stallion unseated the boy and then he was gone.
He watched over the days, weeks, months... The Beaurevers keeping their magic away from the humans. Even those that weren't directly housed within the stable stayed away from the humans. He could feel little pushes of magic all around him. Small, faint, but never in the presence of the humans. Why?
He watched long enough. Natas subtly shifted the appearance of the trail while the boy rode the grey stallion. A simple illusion. Left was right. Right was left. He rustled a bush that startled a bird. He knew the boy's fascination would follow. He nudged a geode onto the trail, sparkling in the sunlight. One which the boy needed to take a closer look at too.
That was all the interfering Natas had to do so he could watch again. He watched the boy discover the source. A source. The castle. One that had been sitting there for an eternity and yet only for an instance. It had only been missed because no one looked for it. He watched the boy wander the halls in fascination. Isn't it beautiful, human? Isn't it full of magic?
Finally, Natas felt he had a good show to watch! Overcome with the feeling of wanting to watch more, Natas moved in closer. His eagerness caused a root to pop out of the ground and trip the boy. His eagerness launched a toadstool from the ground that caught the boy. His eagerness caused the ground to come alive with fungus sprouting from the earth at rapid rates!
His ears twitched as the boy hit the mushrooms with a stick. He regained his composure and watched again. He looked to the grey stud that had realized what kind of magic this was. Would he show the human? Would he continue where Natas left off?
He watched.
He watched as the grey stallion started to learn the magic for himself. He showed the human. He watched as the Beaurever finally showed the human what magic was and then he was gone.

My weird devil horse~
Doing weird devil horse stuff. He's eerie in the way that he's always there, no one knows it and even if they did - they wouldn't know why. We don't get to know why. Why is he so fascinated in magic in relation to Beaurever and humans? Maybe we'll get to know one of these days~
Fun little side project to take a break for a cool Beaurever event <3 Cue my magic horses getting powered up >: D
Good time to test out some art theories and techniques. Why not? I'm in an arty mood.
