Shaleigha smiled softly, petting the big stallion's neck. He was a very sensitive horse to everything around him. A popup rain shower had totally unnerved him, leaving those devastating puddles scattered all around him. He couldn't get away from the pools of water, glittering under the canopy of leaves. Even riding out of the wooded area would proof complicated if he so much as bumped a branch, the liquid death would rain down on him.

"Neeeeeph," Shaleigha pleaded with the stallion to have some reason. "You are okay," she assured him. She leaned down and dipped a finger in a small puddle, touching it to his nose. "Look. Harmless." She smiled, feeling pity for the big Beaurever as his nostrils quivered before he took a big sigh. She could smell the floral notes on his breath; a trait of the Beaurevers - each had their own distinct aroma. She touched the delicate flowers she saw sprouting from his mane, small and gentle just like Neph's personality, despite his large stature. "I think it's fitting you smell of flowers, Neph. One thing flowers have to have to bloom is water. I won't let you wither away, okay?"

Despite her flowery words of encouragement, Neph refused to truly settle down in the little makeshift clearing. Still very young and green, Neph was more focused on high-stepping over any of the puddles, snorting when he saw the puddle ponies in the reflections. Were they friend or foe? Neph wasn't going to hang around to find out! If Fleur so much as twitched an ear, Neph flinched to find out what the danger might be! Any puddle could end their lives without notice! They had to be alert!

Shaleigha could tell there would be a disaster from the beginning but she was going to make the most of it! No sense in worrying more. Come what may. Neph needed anything and everything. He couldn't just stay in a dry stall forever. He even would stand on the further end of his turnout sometimes where he could see the ocean before trotting back to the other side, away from the waves. He was getting more confident every day.

That was until-

Croak~

SPLOSH

THE PUDDLES ATTACKED!!

Neph reared up and jumped away from the devil liquid with a mighty snort! END OF DRY DAYS WERE UPON THEM! THE WORLD WOULD BE DROWNED IN A NEVER ENDING SEA! NO BOAT WOULD CONQUER THE WRATHFUL WAVES! MAY MERCIFUL DEATH TAKE HIM NOW!

Shaleigha laughed loudly, spinning around and around with Neph until he just didn't have anymore in him. "It was a frog!" She announced, gesturing to the large green amphibian sitting in the bottom of a puddle, both eyes on the horses it had startled. "I'm so sorry!" Shaleigha called to her partner in the ring. She was still laughing through it, absolutely tickled that of everything she thought might get to Neph - a frog wasn't anywhere on her radar!

Aline and Fleur's POV: Frogs Happen

AN ACTUAL COLLAB I DIDN'T BOMB 😭😭😭 I'm so proud of us!

I volunteered to do the background because I don't have a solid method of watercolor shading the main subjects just yet so I tackled what I thought I could handle! Raining-Tree-Stables smashed out the characters and they are so wonderful <'333 Look at the expressions and outfits! So perfect for this!

I know I had a lot of fun working on this <3 A style I really want to keep playing with! Thanks so much for working with me on this!!
