I can't honestly say I'm really a fan of this photo at all. While it's cute, there is no quality or thought put into it. You used a webcam and took a snapshot of you and your cat.
On to the critique.

On quality: The photo is VERY grainy and the lighting is miserable because of the laptop screen directly hitting your face. To avoid this, I would recommend attempting to retake this shot with a non-webcam/cellphone camera. I'd also use a better light source; you'd be amazed what lamps can do.
Natural lighting is also ideal; overcast days are perfect for portraiture.
On composition: Positioning is alright. I'd suggest doing this again against a blank background, or one that is relevant to the subject. You want to take a photo with yourself and your cat? Take it with a scratching post in the frame!
