Oooh this is gorgeous. I love the dark colour scheme, the under lighting on the Dragon creates such a fantastic atmosphere  and the natural texture of the watercolours works so nicely on those mountains and clouds C: Awesome piece!

Thanks!  heh, well you know I like my dark colour schemes... ^^  Working on this did highlight to me that I need to practice my landscapes in watercolour a bit more as i didn't quite achieve what I'd hoped for but I'm very happy with the dragon - as I mentioned in my reply to Zha, this is probably the most detail I've done in a watercolour to date :)

This is a wonderfully etherial piece, grey and glowing green always a great combination especially for the type of dragon.

Thank you! Hehe yeah it's like that colour combination was made for this subject :)  I didn't spend quite so long on the background but for the dragon itself I think it's the most detailed I've gotten with watercolours so far.

It's an amazing amount of detail, how do you manage that with watercolours? very tiny brush and exceptionally steady hand?

Yep. Many layers and a tiny, tiny brush!
