Galaxy Gap

Faint Milky Way in Woodlands, Singapore

My wife is pretty obsessed with Pokemon go so when some new monster was lurking about at 1am, we went out to catch it. While she stared at her phone, I found the surroundings quite ideal to catch a whole different but equally illusive beast, the Milky Way in a residential area.

Managed to get a really faint image of it but the amount of stars was really nice to see too! Quite sad to think as we modernise, something that was so common to see in our night sky by our ancestors is getting to be a rarity.

So amazing you were able to take a picture of the Milky Way like that!

yeah, but it's no substitute for a real dark sky reserve. Kind of wished we had a true lights out night for earth hour.

You need to come over here to the mountains. The sky is truly beautiful. But you'll also be in the mountains in the middle of nowhere, lol.
