Wah Sua Keng, Yishun Singapore
I was intrigued by this temples vibrant blue tiles when I would see it as I passed by on the MRT train but never had the opportunity to be in the area to explore it. Yesterday I was in the area but I didnt have my camera with me. So naturally I used my phone to capture it. I don't have any of those special add on lenses so it kind of brought me back to times when I just started photography and it was just a camera, 1 lens and myself. That's right not even a tripod. It was a free time and I could shoot uninhibited but that made lots of shots less contemplated and more spontaneous. Right now, all my shots are done with a tripod, tether and what not so getting this shot was in essence a gamble as it took a multi tile panorama to capture the scene I wanted with the inner courtyard framed by the gated entrance.
It took 15 tiles to capture the entire scene and it was all done handheld with varying exposures set by the camera which made assembly of the panorama pretty hellish. I pretty much had to stitch and exposure match all the tiles manually which took a good chunk of hours to do. Lucky for me, the internet was down so no distractions at all. This really brought me back to all those days of learning panorama photography where I had to do this constantly and figuring out how to solve all the mismatches.
Final resolution of the image turned out to be 37.6 megapixels and very capable of being shown alongside an image taken by my 5dmk4. Such an amazing leap of technology if I may say so myself.
