Guy Martin

By Drake-UK
First of many photography's from the Ulster Grand-Prix also known as "The fastest road race in the world" with race speeds averaging 130 mph.

Pictured is Guy Martin on the Tyco Suzuki who later went on to win this particular race.

First attempt at motorsport and its more difficult than I expected it to be but overall an enjoyable experience.

Great shot of Guy Martin, he's my favorite road racer!

He is a laugh and an amazing rider, I briefly met him the night before this shot was taken and he was pretty eccentric.

Awesome, liking the selective colouring... not something you normally see done for the bikers. I noticed Guy got a few podium finishes, looking forward to the highlight show this evening!

When you are trying to keep those guys lined up in your viewfinder, you really begin to appreciate the speeds they are clocking up. 1/200 - 1/125 gives you a nice background motion blur if you can get a steady tracking pan whilst they fly by.

You can join me for the NW200 next year, it was a bit lonely on my own last time.

Thanks Mr Fawx!

I'd say theres a good chance I might be on the highlight show since seconds after that shot was taken Micheal Dunlop decided to slide past Martin on his face and then onto the grass, He was alright in the end and even managed to win the second superbike at the end of the day after yet another epic battle with Guy.

I had a go at panning and got a couple of decent shots but the sheer speed they where moving made it very difficult.

Also I'll happily join you for the NW next year and I'd highly recommend the Ulster GP as you can get right and close to the action at several sections of the track.

I'd have liked to get up to the Ulster GP but it just didn't work out... shame!

Whilst it's still quite a few months away, my plan is to take the full week off work for the NW200 and hope to get an all access pass for the duration. Atmosphere is great there, lovin' it!
