So here's what's been happening over the past year or so.
I joined AmeriCorps to be a teaching assistant at a school in my city between August 2015 and June 2016. Working with students all day every day doesn't really leave much time or energy for much else, and I had to put a lot of interests and hobbies on the backburner, papercraft included.
New job #2
I moved to Japan in August to be an English teacher.
I'm sure many of you (by which I mean the few that will probably notice that I've even written something) can understand that moving somewhere else can be a big change. In my case, I just moved halfway around the world to a foreign country. Granted, I studied Japanese language and culture for many years in college (my bachelor's degree is in Japanese Studies), but there's a lot you don't learn in class about living in Japan. Needless to say, between the transition and getting used to my new job, still not a lot of time or energy to dedicate to personal interests.
Having a tiny apartment and no easy access to a printer doesn't help as a papercrafter either. I might end up buying a printer eventually to resume/restart/start a lot of the projects I wanted to do, but until I figure it out, not much going on in my papercraft-land. I do have a lot of photos I never added to DeviantArt, so I might do that.
I might also share some of the plastic models I've built since I've moved here (because, you know, Japan).
Anyway, I just decided to log into DeviantArt on a whim and wanted to generally share what's going on in my life. I do miss papercrafting, but real life > hobbies. -__-
Hope you're all doing well!
