I have voted in every election in which I was eligible since turning 18. I believe that voting is not only a fundamental right, but also a privilege and a civic duty. Too many have sacrificed too much for me to just brush it off as inconvenient or irrelevant. People around the world are beaten, imprisoned and even put to death for advocating for democracy. People of different creeds and colors have been tortured and killed in this country while trying to win the right to vote.
The operation of our government is far from perfect but it won't improve unless people engage, demand better and work together to achieve it. To say that this is the most important vote I have ever cast in my lifetime is an understatement. One voice, one vote. Be heard.
