Converse cake

Dont you always wish you had taken better photos?

This was a cake for my friends birthday.

There is a textured suitcase cake for the base tier, with slashes in the suitcase like Freddy Kreuger from Nightmare on Elmstreet,

The top tier cake is a converse shoe.

I am gutted cos you cant see the stitching details in the picture.

I put a real converse in front of me, carved the lemon cake, coated in buttercream, then added panels of sugarpaste as if they were fabric to create as realistic a finish as possible. I used a new set of shoe laces to imprint the sugarpaste for the laces. The converse badge was a disc of sugarpaste and I used food colouring pens to add the lettering.
