The Unicorn Councilor

Here’s the eighth and final of the eight masked members of the Supreme Council of Azarath or the Celestial Guardians as they call themselves. This is the Unicorn Councilor.

She’s the third of the remaining three masked councilors who got their cloak colors and mask shapes that weren't even featured in the Japanese Tokusatsu series Dengeki Sentai Changeman. Instead, the purple cloak and the unicorn shaped mask for the Unicorn Councilor were things that I came up with on my own as I wanted all the members of the Supreme Council to have their masks modeled after mythical beasts that represented both good and evil since all of these old wizards and witches have been lying to various people for so many years.

In addition to her purple hooded cloak, dark gold armor and unicorn shaped mask with jade eyes, the Unicorn Councilor speaks with a calm and “sacred” tone. In public, she’s seen as an angelic, benevolent and merciful sorceress as well as a symbol of virtue but in reality she’s a fanatical, moralistic and elitist old woman. She believes that only those who are “pure of soul” in her eyes deserve to exist, she truly hates Arella for having become involved with a demon even though Trigon tricked her by pretending to be a human and sees suffering as divine punishment and influcts it with pleasure.

She represents the unicorn, a divine looking horse with a horn gifted with a healing power that also also pierces and destroyed and this metaphor is quite fitting for her indeed given that she believes by brutally killing so many innocent people in Azarath, she’s sending them into the “right path of redemption to the afterlife to her eyes. Since she and the other masked councilors are old people, the Unicorn Councilor has wisdom and power that are said to be quite big on a global and she has the same abilities as the beast her mask was modeled after when it comes to his powerful and highly dangerous magic. Because of his terrifying reputation, she’s been known by many as “The Saint of Cruel Purification”.
