The Pegasus Councilor

Here’s the third of the eight masked members of the Supreme Council of Azarath or the Celestial Guardians as they call themselves. This is the Pegasus Councilor.

As I’ve mentioned in my picture of all the eight masked councilors, the first five of them got their cloak colors and mask shapes after the main heroes from the Japanese Tokusatsu series Dengeki Sentai Changeman. In the case of the Pegasus Councilor, he got his blue cloak and pegasus shaped mask inspired by Yuma Ozora AKA Change Pegasus.

In addition to his blue hooded cloak, dark gold armor and pegasus shaped mask with jade eyes, the Pegasus Councilor is soft-spoken, has an erudite tone and quire refined gestures. In public, he's seen as a calm, logical and diplomatic sorcerer who serves as the "balance" of the other councilors but he's actually an arrogant, elitist and emotionally manipulative old man. He thinks feelings are human illnesses, believes that logic should rule all things, even life and death and sees all of his fellow councilors as instruments of his "perfect" vision of society due to them sharing his ideals.

He represents the pegasus, a heavenly winged horse that rises above mortals, but despises what is human which is very fitting given that he despises people who are independent thinkers who refuse to work on the peaceful society of Azarath that was created through pain and destruction. Because he and the other masked councilors are old people, the Pegasus Councilor also share the great wisdom and power as his fellow manipulative and dangerous magicians and he has the same abilities as the beast his mask was modeled when it comes to his powerful and highly dangerous magic. Because of his terrifying reputation, he’s been known by many as “The Arrogant Intellectual”.
