Description

Here’s the second picture of the third wave of the Fixing Fusion Monsters series, which also happens to be the twenty-sixth overall entry. This is the updated Fusion of Armail and One-Eyed Shield Dragon called Dragoness the Wicked Knight 2.0. I named this Fusion monster Dragoness the Wicked Knight 2.0 because, in the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga, anime, and card game, there is an actual Fusion monster called Dragoness the Wicked Knight. Similar to many of the other Fusion monsters I’ve previously worked on, this one fell short of the mark—at least in terms of being a fully faithful physical combination of both of its fusees. Despite these few small flaws, Dragoness was an almost (and I do mean almost) perfect Fusion monster, since he incorporated nearly every single element and attribute from Armail and One-Eyed Shield Dragon. The only real issues were the lack of a few key elements and an inaccurate color scheme. Just like I recently did with Amphibious Bugroth, I decided to create a 2.0 version of this Fusion monster, which ended up incorporating all the missing details that originated from the two monsters used to create him.

The original Dragoness was a dragon-themed, armored warrior with wings, wielding two swords—one in each hand. The dragon head-shaped helmet, chest plate, faulds, and wings were yellow; the shoulder pads, gauntlets, kneepads, and diamond-shaped gem in the chest plate were green; the long-sleeved shirt was blue; the pants were black; and the boots were brown. In addition, he wielded two swords with red grips, yellow guards, and gray blades made of steel. As mentioned earlier, Dragoness was almost perfect as a Fusion of Armail and One-Eyed Shield Dragon, since he incorporated nearly all the physical aspects and overall themes of his two fusees. However, he needed a complete recoloring, as the original color palette was not accurate, and he also lacked a few key elements such as the single large eye and thick shield from One-Eyed Shield Dragon, as well as Armail’s long red, snake-like tail that ends with a sharp sword. Due to these small yet essential adjustments that were needed to make him fully faithful to both of his fusees, the new Dragoness the Wicked Knight, also known as Dragoness the Wicked Knight 2.0, was born.

This updated Fusion monster retains all the physical attributes of the original version but now features the correct colors from the two monsters that were merged to create him, along with the missing details from Armail and One-Eyed Shield Dragon. The colors Dragoness shares with Armail include yellow in his eyes, dark red across the entire suit, salmon in his skin, and steel blue in the sword blades. Meanwhile, the colors he shares with One-Eyed Shield Dragon include green in the helmet, wings, chest plate, faulds, and sword grips and guards; gray in the armored boots; and ruby red in the wings’ mainsails. Additionally, the new Dragoness also incorporates amethyst lavender and cornflower blue from both Armail and One-Eyed Shield Dragon in the horns on the helmet and wing edges, the gauntlets, kneepads, large stripes between the feet and lower legs, and the two razor-sharp blades located on opposite sides of the boots. The most significant new element added to this updated Fusion monster is the large blue eye from One-Eyed Shield Dragon, now positioned in the center of the helmet. This magical eye allows him to see over vast distances, detect both allies and enemies, and locate important places and objects.

Although recoloring this winged warrior using the correct colors from his fusees and adding a new physical element was fairly straightforward, I faced significant difficulty when trying to incorporate Armail’s long sword-tipped tail and One-Eyed Shield Dragon’s large shield. Due to the lack of available space—since the wings and swords already occupied most of the design—I struggled to find a suitable place for these missing weapons. After experimenting with several ideas, I ultimately decided to merge the sword and shield into a brand-new feature rather than placing them on the chest or as a tail. That’s when I came up with the idea of transforming his boots into weapons made from the same materials, resulting in the sharp blades positioned on each side. Because these boots are a combination of a sword and a shield, Dragoness gains enhanced defensive and offensive capabilities: the hardened metal can block most attacks, while his legs become deadly weapons capable of piercing enemies and objects alike with powerful kicks. In addition to boosting both offense and defense, these boots also allow him to move at supersonic speeds on both land and air, making him the perfect warrior for devastating surprise attacks.

Dragoness the Wicked Knight 2.0 is a truly formidable warrior—one who is both strong in spirit and pure of heart. Although he is known by many as the Wicked Knight, this title comes not from cruelty, but from the brutal efficiency of his combat style. His methods of attacking, killing, and incapacitating his enemies with his twin swords are often described as bloodthirsty, ruthless, and savage, and countless thieves, trespassers, and spies have met their end after being struck down by his devastating cleaving techniques. Despite his fearsome reputation among evildoers, this winged knight clad in dragon-themed armor remains kind and honorable toward his allies and fiercely protective of the innocent people of his homeland. Blessed with the martial skill of a seasoned warrior and the agility of a dragon, Dragoness is equally deadly on land and in the sky. His speed and aerial mobility make him an exceptional scout, bodyguard, messenger, and spy, capable of traversing vast distances with ease. The mystical armor he wears was forged from actual dragon scales, allowing him to inherit the power, resilience, and indomitable spirit of a dragon. This ancient armor resonates with the same primal might once wielded by Armail, granting Dragoness immense physical strength and relentless endurance in battle. At the center of his helmet lies a massive magical eye—an artifact passed down from the One-Eyed Shield Dragon. This eye grants Dragoness the ability to perceive distant events, detect approaching enemies, uncover hidden dangers, and even locate sacred or long-forgotten treasures. Acting as both a sentinel and a guide, he uses this power to warn his fellow warriors of incoming threats and to ensure their safety before danger can strike. As a sworn guardian who dwells between land and sky, Dragoness will swiftly eliminate any menace that dares threaten those under his protection. He can unleash violent gusts of wind with a single beat of his wings or cut down his foes in moments with a relentless barrage of precise and deadly sword strikes. Though feared by the wicked, Dragoness the Wicked Knight stands as a symbol of justice—an unyielding defender born from the fusion of dragon, warrior, and ancient guardian. The stats of the new Dragoness are pretty much the same ones as the original.
