Hello, to all who are still here!!
I know... I'm here to say sorry, again.
There isn't much to say right now. I've had a hard time getting back into drawing. Let alone, comic making. My desktop is still not really usable/accessible. (Long story.) My tablet that I got is sorta just sitting around, being a weird electronic I don't really want to try and make peace with. I'm sorta nervous about even trying to make comics on it, because it doesn't seem to have a lot of processing power on it. I need to try again, and see what I'm actually able to use it for.
Other than that, I've sorta been writing. I have a murder mystery story set in the Cross universe that I would really like to put out. I think it's a good one! My goal is to get it started in the fall, since it's a bit of a spooky story. :D
Aside from all that, I finally found a job!!!! There's a funny story behind it too.
So, in June, I got an interview at a local dog daycare, and it went pretty well! I thought so, anyway. The position was actually for someone to be back-of-house and front-of-house. The manager said that while we had a great interview, she could tell I would be better at back-of-house. So I didn't get it. She told me to get back to her in a few weeks. I kept that in mind while I kept searching. Finally, around the 4th of July, I got a job offer at bakery. I had no real interest in this job, since I've worked in a kitchen before, and I hated it. But I really needed the money, and it was the first job offer I'd gotten.
I went into the training for the bakery, and I could already tell I was just not going to like it. They have one of the MOST RESTRICTIVE dress code policy I've ever had to deal with!!?! No coloured hair, no visible tattoos, no piercings, only managers/supervisors were allowed to wear a watch, and I couldn't even wear my wedding ring!?!? I sorta get the ring thing, cause I wouldn't want to lose a stone in bread dough, or something. But still!?! All of those policies for a BAKERY??? NOPE.
So anyway. While I was there, I got a call from the dog daycare manager and she offered me a position!!! I immediately said yes. Zero hesitation.
She's so easy to talk to, so I told her about the bakery and their stupid policies and all that, and she's like, "Yeah. I'm going to start you this week, and you don't need to deal with any of that."
I ended up leaving the bakery right after I got off the phone with her, cause I just didn't wanna do it. One of the managers that was training me that day was actually kinda jealous when I told her about the daycare. LOL
Yeah. I've been working there now, and I love it!!! It is very different from my previous daycare job. But that's ok! I like the systems they have in place, and I feel like I'm learning something new every day there! And I've met some really cute dogs!!!!
In the meantime, I am slowly feeling the itch to draw again. While I love crochet very much, I do miss making my stories. I still read other artists' comics, and I'm sitting there like, ". . . Shoot. I miss this."
I hope those of you that are still here will stick around for when I start up again. Otherwise, I hope you're all doing well!!
Dana

What up!!
