Our kingdom is the sky by Dragon-Soul117 Our kingdom is the sky by Dragon-Soul117
Well, I've done a couple of small drawings recently, but I've been unsure of what medium to complete them with. They've all been done in my 110gsm paper sketchbook. Leave them as they are, watercolour pencils, or shaded? I'll probably leave the originals up though.

Enjoy!

this is a very nice drawing.  I really like how bulky her limbs are without looking too thick.  The neck and head as always are perfect.  I really want to do jaws as well as you.  Would you like me to point out some things that you might want to change before you get to the next step?

I would say you might use regular colored pensils mixed with water color for effect.  Or ink.  I like mixing media to get the effects I want easier.

Thank you very much :) I'm always open to advice. I will probably get my hands on some normal colour pencils soonish so that I'm not wasting my rather more expensive watercolour ones. I've wanted to try ink for a while now actually. Done a few sketches with my writing fountain pen, but not much more than that.

Her left wing is not positioned right it looks like it is stretching forward.  I think that the neck could cover the right horn for a little before it come out (could even show the horn pressing into the neck).  Need more wrist on the forelimbs.  Hind feet are a little clunky.  I would suggest a reference for the calf muscle.  you probably would not see much through the wing depending on lighting.  you might do shadowing but not detail.  You might reconsider how the spikes are placed on the last section of the tail.

otherwise love the wing pit.  chest and head are great.  saddle straps are well done.  belly line is good.  One of your best necks if you ask me. :)
