Final Chapter: The Bridge to the Future

Esdeath: No... No I won't...

This left everyone in utter shock.

Kurome: Captain?

Esdeath sighed and glanced back her friends and comrades.

Esdeath: Too many people have already died, and I'm tired of it. No more injustice, no more bloodshed, no more revenge, and no more killing. I'm ending it all, here and now. Tatsumi and I talked of this even before this final battle. We all have done horrible things, all of them involving us ending the life of another human being who had just as much of a right to live as we did. Of course, I'm not saying all of them were innocent, some of them well and truly deserved dead, mainly Honest, but…

Esdeath returned to her feet and looked at them all directly, her expression showing them she had been thinking on this for quite some time now and that what she was saying right now were her true feelings on the matter. Then she returned her gaze back at Liliana, who couldn't even comprehend what she was hearing right now.

Esdeath: But if I learned anything from being with Tatsumi, I learned that everybody at least deserves a second chance... regardless of what they've done... However...

Esdeath crossed her arms and gazed at her comrades and the rebels once again.

Esdeath: The power to decide your fate doesn't just rest with me...

There was a long silence. Most of the rebels had scowls and expressions full of hatred and animosity, and they still had their Teigus and weapons raised, even Night Raid and the Jaegers. Suddenly, after another long moment of silence... Najenda dropped Reaper to the ground. Then Lubbock deactivated Cross Tail. Then Wave dropped Grand Chariot's key, followed by Kana who dropped Armageddon's key. Next it was Lance, followed by Kurome, Run, Leone, Chelsea, Mine, Phelix, Raydia, Sasrika, and Rashad, all of them dropped or deactivated their Teigus or other weapons. Another moment later, Nuge also dropped his own Teigu, and then all the soldiers of the Revolutionary Army dropped or deactivated their Teigus or other weapons, and soon, the members of the Path of Peace, and the soldiers of the Western Country, Inferno and the Sun Kingdom did the same. With that, there was only one person left who hadn't dropped her Teigu yet, and that was none other than Akame. The assassin of the Demon Sword walked forward with Murasame held tightly in her grip as she approached Liliana and only stopped when she was a foot away from her. Then, Akame glared at Liliana with an expression filled with such hate and such animosity it could've burned holes through her and into the ground. Suddenly... quick as a flash... Akame drew Murasame from its sheath and rested the blade atop Liliana's shoulder, the razor sharp edge only centimeters away from her neck, and the arm the assassin was using to hold the Demon Sword began to shake from how hard she was gripping it.

Akame: You have no idea how much I want to kill you right now... You killed so many of my precious friends... First Zel... then Susanoo... and now Tatsumi...

When it seemed like the tension in the air had finally reached its breaking point... Akame surprised them all yet again by pulling away Murasame from Liliana, returning it to its sheath and dropped it to the ground, the breath she had been keeping in coming out when she exhaled slowly and relaxed her nerves and muscles. Liliana was floored even more so then when Esdeath refused to kill her and she stared at Akame with wide eyes, wondering what could have possibly caused her to refrain from ending her existence.

Akame: But... just like Esdeath said... too many people have already died... and more importantly... Prime Minister Honest... is finally dead... So... it's finally over... No more injustice... no more bloodshed... no more revenge... and most importantly... no more killing... No more... just... no more...

Esdeath smiled somewhat when Akame walked up to her and hugged her gently.

Liliana: I...I…I... I'm... I'm so... I’m sorry! I'm so sorry!

Liliana totally and utterly broke down and began to cry, long streams of tears falling from her eyes. Everyone present remained respectfully silent, allowing this tormented young woman to let out pain she had built up for so long, while at the same time an infinite weight lifted itself off of her shoulders. After what seemed like an hour, Liliana finally began to calm down and stopped crying, though tears still remained in her eyes. Esdeath then gestured for Phelix to come closer.

Esdeath: Phelix, could you please?

Phelix nodded as he gave a vial of his blood to Liliana and she drank it all, then her wounds began to heal themselves. Although this regeneration was a little slower than Demon's Heart's, the hole in her chest and her severed arm soon regenerated and she was soon back to healthy condition.

Esdeath: Leone, could you do me another favor?

Esdeath pointed with her index finger at Kuou. Leone understood what she meant and she walked over to where Kuou lay, a whimper emerging from his lips as she carefully picked him up and carrier him back over to where they were so Phelix could give him some off his blood. He took it after being assured by Liliana and when his left arm finished regenerating, he had fully recovered.

Kuou: Um... thanks…

Phelix merely nodded. Kuou then gave Liliana what was left of his coat to try to cover her nakedness, he also gave her back Konstriktor and Absordex. Then Kuou knelt down and wiped away the tears that remained in Liliana's eyes. Liliana then looked up when Akame walked up to her with a scowl on her face. She had no idea what to say to the assassin of the Demon Sword, but after a few seconds of silence, Akame's cold expression softened somewhat and she sighed heavily.

Liliana: Akame... I…

Akame: I'll accept your apology, but... I can't forgive you. Maybe after some time I might, but not now. If it wasn't for Esdeath, I would've cut your head off.

Liliana slowly nodded her head. Then Esdeath walked to where Tatsumi's lifeless body was and hugged him tightly.

Esdeath: I only hope that... if I ever could reincarnate... I could encounter Tatsumi again... and live with him in a more peaceful life...

Mine: If only there was something that could bring him back to life.

Najenda: Unfortunately, wishing there was something like that is foolish. There's no such thing as a Teigu that can resurrect the dead.

???: That's where you're wrong.

Everyone turned when they heard the new voice and watched in shock and awe as the child Emperor, who was beaten, with a little bloody, without his crown, using his scepter as a crutch, but otherwise fine, and with a regretful look on his face, walk towards them. He approached Esdeath and crouched down next to her, everyone wondering what he was going to do before he reached under his shirt and pulled out a necklace made of gold with a unique looking green and white pendant hanging off the golden chain. On the center of the pendant was a large bright blue diamond, and four smaller ones around it.

Kurome: Wow, that's a very pretty necklace.

Run: What is that?

The Emperor removed the necklace from around his neck and looked at it with a smile on his face.

The Emperor: This necklace belonged to my father, and I received it when I became Emperor. It has been passed down to all the rulers of the Empire through the generations.

Then he lifted the necklace and a few rays of sunshine began to illuminate it.

The Emperor: The reason why... is because this necklace is in fact a Teigu. However, what separates this one from the rest... is the fact that this Teigu was created in secret after the creation of the original 48 Teigus was completed.

Everyone gasped in awe.

Lance: Wait... you mean... a forty ninth Teigu?

The child Emperor nodded.

Lance: I didn't even know about this. What's it's name? And what exactly does it do?

The Emperor: It's name is Ultimatum: Aether. And just like Shikoutazer, it can only be used by the descendants of the First Emperor. However, while Shikoutazer is considered the Ultimate Teigu, Aether is considered the Divine Teigu. The reason why? Well, you were saying there's no such thing as a Teigu that can resurrect the dead, right?

Najenda: Well, yeah.

The Emperor: Well, just like I said, that's where you're wrong. Because that's exactly what Aether can do.

Lubbock: Wait... are you saying that... this Teigu can actually resurrect the dead?

The Emperor: Exactly. The only ability Aether contains is, if the current ruler of the Empire so desires it, he or she could place this necklace around the neck of someone who had died and trade their life in order to bring that same person back from the dead.

He looped the necklace around Tatsumi's neck, being sure to place the pendant in the direct center of his chest.

The Emperor: It can only be used once, so after Aether is used, it will be deactivated and cannot be used again unless a new Emperor or Empress takes possession of the Teigu.

Esdeath: Wait, you said "trade their life", meaning that after you use Aether... you will die, right?

The Emperor: Yes... This will be my true first and last act as Emperor... without Prime Minister Honest... or someone else... controlling me...

He sat back on his legs with Esdeath right next to him, a blanket of silence draping itself over all the place as the Emperor closed his eyes and placed one hand on Tatsumi's chest above his heart and the other over his own. He inhaled deeply and cleared his mind, exhaling only when he was ready.

The Emperor: As Emperor, I hereby activate Aether.

Before their very eyes, all the diamonds in the pendant began to emit a soft glow. Everyone remained perfectly quiet when the light grew brighter and after a few moments of silence, the Emperor lifted his hand off his chest and with a needle, provided by Chelsea, he cut a line across his palm and Tatsumi's opposite hand so that when he grasped it, their blood could mix. The same faint light radiating from the necklace around Tatsumi's neck emerged from their hands and the Emperor let out a deep breath once more to ready himself for what was coming. Suddenly, he grunted a little when Aether began to do its work, which could only be compared to a divine miracle of God itself. The marks stretching across Tatsumi's body began to recede as Murasame's cursed poison was sucked out of his bloodstream, transported down his arm and through the cut in his hand into the Emperor's body, where he himself began to suffer the effects of the certain-kill poison. Regardless of the pain, he continued until the last drop of poison had been moved from Tatsumi's body to his, and when that was completed, he let go of Tatsumi's hand and sat back on his legs with eyes only halfway open. Then the wound that Liliana had made on Tatsumi's chest with Murasame closed by itself. Then the Emperor began to chant something.

The Emperor: Emperor, Emperor of tremendous Majesty, who freely saves those worthy ones, save him, source of mercy. Trump Card: Soul Revival!

The Emperor then let out a long, drawn-out sigh and suddenly... to everyone's utter shock... a stream of glowing light escaped from the Emperor's lips and went into Tatsumi's, surely that had been very essence of life from the Emperor himself. Finally, the Emperor coughed as the light from Aether faded away, the diamonds' bright blue color shifting to a charcoal black to show that the Teigu's single use had been fulfilled.

The Emperor: I-It is done…

Esdeath looked from the young boy back down to Tatsumi and she instantly felt the warmth she had grown to love come back to his skin, and when she lowered her head down to his chest... she couldn't believe her ears when she heard the steady beat of his heart.

Esdeath: Oh... my... god... H-His... H-His heart... it's... it's beating... He's alive!

Not even a few seconds later, Tatsumi's eyes fluttered and began to slowly open. Since Incursio had been defused from Tatsumi, just like Tyrant's spirit, he was no longer a half-human, half-Danger Beast hybrid. Due to that, his eyes had returned to their original emerald green and he also returned to his original height of 165 cm.

Tatsumi: Ugh... My head...

Then Tatsumi's eyes shot wide open and he immediately pushed himself up so that his back was straight and looked in all directions in shock. He was damn sure he had been killed by Liliana, but here he was, seemingly alive and amongst all of his friends, all the rebels, and more importantly... his wife.

Tatsumi: Oh no. Liliana killed you all and you all went to heaven with me?

Kana: No, you actually came back from the dead.

Tatsumi: What?!

Wave: The Emperor used Aether, a Teigu that was created in secret after the creation of the original 48 Teigus was completed, and bring you back to life.

Tatsumi: A forty ninth Teigu?

He looked down and saw Aether hanging around his neck, then he notice the absence of Murasame's cursed poison in his system and saw the black marks on the child Emperor's skin.

Tatsumi: Wait, but I thought that there's no such thing as...

Najenda: Turns out that there is a Teigu that can truly resurrect the dead after all.

Tatsumi: Well, if you say that, I guess I can accept it.

Then Tatsumi looked at Esdeath. The two continued staring at each other in total silence until Tatsumi broke it.

Tatsumi: I...

Esdeath: YOU JERK!

Esdeath slapped Tatsumi hard on the left cheek, and since her hand had ice claws, she gave him a slight scratch and made him bleed a little. Then she grabbed him by the collar and began to shake him violently with a drastically pissed off look on her face.

Esdeath: You promised to never to leave me ever again! And what do you do?! You use your damn body as a shield and receive an attack that kills you in front of my very eyes! What the hell were you thinking, you fucking idiot! How fucking dare you do this to me, you damn jerk?! Do you have the slightest idea how much you made me suffer?! You damn son of a bitch!

Tatsumi: I’m sorry! I’m so sorry! I really am! I don't know what happened! My body just moved on its own! I swear! I just didn't want to see you die! I swore I wouldn't let you die! I won't do it again! I swear!

After shaking her husband for a while, Esdeath tore off the part of Incursio that covered her breasts and exposed them. Then she threw her arms around Tatsumi's head and buried it between her enormous breasts, embracing him. She also wrapped her ice wings around him. Then Tatsumi felt the tears of joy that began to flow from Esdeath's eyes. Not wanting to interrupt her, he only closed his eyes and hugged her back, he also began to stroke her hair gently.

Esdeath: I'm just... so happy you're back... I'm so glad... that you're alive... I thought I'd lost you... forever... Please... don't you fucking dare do this to me ever again...

Tatsumi: I promise, Esdeath. I'll never do it again.

Once Esdeath have shed all of her tears and started to calm down, she cupped Tatsumi's cheeks and kissed him, the passion and life he radiated soothing her soul. Once they finished kissing, Esdeath released Tatsumi so he could see the child Emperor on the verge of death sitting a foot away from them, a small smile on his face. Tatsumi bowed his head in thanks.

Tatsumi: Thank you, your Majesty.

The Emperor: Y-You're welcome... and as a f-final request... please... look after this Empire for me… and make sure... to rebuild it... with no more bloodshed...

Tatsumu: Alright then, we'll make sure that your death will be the finally the last drop of bloodshed. By the way, I never knew your actual name.

The Emperor: M-Makoto... M-My... My real name is... Makoto...

Then, the child Emperor, Makoto, shivered and collapsed onto his side, the cursed poison of Murasame finally reaching his heart and killing him.

Tatsumi: You were not a good and strong ruler, but unlike Honest, you showed a strong resolve in your final moments and accepted your fate.

Esdeath then stood up and helped Tatsumi back to his feet. Then, Akame, Kurome, Mine and Chelsea, each of them hugged him to welcome him back.

Chelsea: Thank god we didn't lose you.

Then Leone grinned and did her usual head-lock hug that pressed his face right up against her breasts.

Leone: Yeah, good to have you back you damn knucklehead.

Tatsumi rolled his eyes. Then Leone let Tatsumi go so that Kana and Raydia could also give him hug and Lubbock, Wave, and Phelix patted him on the back, Najenda, Run, Lance, Sasrika and Rashad also welcome him back. When everyone had gotten in their greetings, Tatsumi finally turned around and noticed Liliana and Kuou standing a few feet away separated from them, with Liliana especially making sure she had her gaze averted. He also noticed the broken pieces of what was left of Demon's Heart. He glanced at Esdeath and asked without speaking, Esdeath nodding her head once, before he walked over with his hands in his pockets.

Tatsumi: Liliana...

Liliana didn't respond and only looked down, her expectations being he would be angry or scowling at her for killing him. When she finally looked up, she was surprised that it wasn't any of those things. In fact, Tatsumi had a smile on his face and he also patted her on the head. For some reason this made her feel at ease, like there was nothing she had to worry about anymore.

Tatsumi: I see you were finally able to come to your senses.

Liliana looked down one more time.

Liliana: I want to say sorry... but... that doesn't even come close to being able to make up for everything I've done...

Tatsumi slowly nod his head in understanding.

Tatsumi: Yes, that is true. It's going to take a long while for everyone to move on past what happened here today and what you did, especially us.

Kuou: I want to apologize too. Liliana and I share a lot of things, including our mutual hate for Honest and the Empire itself. And I want to help her, just like Albanor wanted too.

Liliana looked up once again.

Liliana: Then... how about this? Me and Kuou will leave... and we won't come near any of you and hurt you or anyone else…

No one seemed to object to that.

Tatsumi: Sounds fair enough.

Esdeath grinned and placed a hand on her hip.

Esdeath: Just know that the next time something like this happens, we'll beat you two to a pulp.

Both Liliana and Kuou snickered lightly at the humor-laced threat, giving them a grin of their own.

Liliana: We wouldn't bet on that.

Kuou: Alright, let's get out of here. Cold Flight.

With that, Kuou took Cypher, created ice around his arms and legs to grant himself the ability to fly, and took Liliana in his arms like a princess. Liliana looked at Esdeath and Tatsumi for the last time and gave them both a warm-hearted smile.

Liliana: Esdeath... Tatsumi... thank you... Maybe someday... we can meet again... and be friends again...

Liliana then turned away from them and left with Kuou, the two fly over the wall of the capital and disappearing. When they were out of sight, a few bright glow rays of sunshine appeared directly above some of the rebel forces. Tatsumi had to shield his eyes from the bright glow, the others looking up to the bright blue sky and watching with smiles. Soon, all the sun's rays bathed everyone in its warm touch.

Najenda: We did it! We actually did it! We were able to finally free the Empire!

A deafening victory cry rose up from all the surviving members of the Revolutionary Army, the Path of Peace, the Western Country, Inferno and the Sun Kingdom. Then Esdeath wrapped her arms around Tatsumi's head again and buried it between her enormous breasts, only this time it was only the back part, leaving his face exposed. She also wrapped her ice wings around him.

Tatsumi: You're not going to let me go, are you?

Esdeath: Of course not, I'm not going to let you go.

Tatsumi decided to accept his fate and shrug.

Tatsumi: By the way, you look as beautiful as a goddess with that version of Incursio.

Esdeath: Thank you, darling.

Not long afterwards, a bright light enveloped Incursio. It didn't take Esdeath long to figure out why.

Esdeath: Looks like Teigu Fusion is about to be deactivated, after all the fusion is only temporary.

A few seconds later, Teigu Fusion deactivated, Demon's Extract was defused from the armor, the icy Neuntote vanished into thin air, and Incursio returned to its short sword form. Then Esdeath gave Tatsumi back his Teigu.

Esdeath: Here you go.

Tatsumi: Thank you. To tell you the truth, I had missed this form of Incursio.

Suddenly, Tatsumi's eyes snapped open and his cheeks turned dark red. Esdeath then noticed that it wasn't just him, the members of Night Raid and the Jaegers, and also some rebels had the same expressions.

Esdeath: What's wrong?

Tatsumi: Umm... Esdeath... you are... exposed...

Esdeath: You mean my breasts? I exposed them for you.

Mine: Umm... actually... your big blobs of fat aren't the only thing that's exposed.

Mine pointed down with a finger and Esdeath's gaze followed the direction. Esdeath's eyes opened wide once she finally realized what was the issue. She remembered that all her clothes had been destroyed by Liliana, but since she had put on Incursio, she had forgotten about it. In other words, when Incursio deactivated and took its key form once again, Esdeath was left completely naked in front of all her friends and even the rebels.

Esdeath: Kyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Esdeath's face instantly turned red, she bent down and tried to hide her nakedness with her hair.

Female Extase User: Wow, Esdeath really has such amazing slender, voluptuous figure.

Male Spectator User: How did those things managed to fit into that armor and Incursio?

Female Belvaac User: Well, one thing's for sure, with that figure, the Ice Queen can seduce anyone. There's no point in resisting.

Male Balzac User: She also screamed a very loud and cute Kyaa.

Esdeath: Doesn't anyone know what privacy is anymore?!

Esdeath blushed even more and created an ice sword, the revolutionaries quickly changed the direction of their gazes or covered their eyes. Tatsumi meanwhile gave his coat to Esdeath.

Nightfall

Now that the tyrannical reign of Prime Minister Honest has finally ended, the Empire's people alongside their liberators switched their focus to the long period of rebuilding their broken capital they all knew would follow after the revolution had come full circle. Thankfully, the cleanup of the broken remains of Shikoutazer was accomplished easily with the help of the airships the Sun Kingdom had with their army since they can use tethers to lift them out of the city. And by the end of the day, all of the rubble and debris that occupied the imperial palace grounds had been taken to the capital's outskirts to be disposed of at a later date. During the cleanup, the remains of Honest's body were also found, and they buried them not far from the capital. And when the sun began to set, with weary bodies drained both physically and mentally, the people and the armies that had liberated them all retired to their houses or tents outside the capital's walls to rest. Phelix and Raydia, Sasrika and Rashad, and even Kana and Lance, also retired to the tents outside the capital's walls to rest. Meanwhile, Esdeath led the surviving members of Night Raid and the Jaegers through the winding streets to a place they thought they would never return to.

Wave: Wow, so it is still here.

Wave and the other Jaegers walked through the front gates of the mansion that used to act as their headquarters when they were still loyal to the Empire, the members of Night Raid following behind them. They soon arrived at the very same courtyard where both organizations had fought for the first time.

Najenda: You know? To think we'd all come back here. It's like it came around full circle.

Esdeath: Yeah.

They all stood there for a few more minutes to reminisce before they walked inside and splitting up to find themselves rooms. Tatsumi and Esdeath climbed up the familiar set of stairs they had walked up and down so many times before and arrived at their old room in the mansion. Esdeath opened the door and walked inside first, taking in the familiar smells of the interior while Tatsumi walked over to the bed and grinned upon seeing the sheets were still in proper condition and hardly touched.

Esdeath: We have a lot of good memories here in this mansion and this room especially.

Tatsumi: And now that Honest is finally gone, all of us have a chance to make new, happier ones since we won't have to worry about any more of the troubles he produced for the Empire.

Esdeath watched Tatsumi smile and yawn before he collapsed onto the bed sheets and immediately fell asleep just from exhaustion alone. Esdeath crept over to Tatsumi to see if he was actually asleep, and when she poked his exposed cheek and still he didn't move an inch, she giggled when a daring and perverted thought came to her mind.

Esdeath: Rest for a little while my dear Tatsumi... You gonna need it...

Meanwhile, further down the hall, Wave had been unable to will himself to sleep even though he was in his old room, and so he lay there under the covers with his eyes glued to the ceiling and his hands resting on his chest.

Wave: Why can't I sleep?

Suddenly, a knock resonated from his door and he jumped a little at first before he sighed and called for whoever was outside to go ahead and enter. He was surprised when the door creaked inward and Kurome appeared in the doorway with nothing but a plain white shirt. Wave pushed himself up into a sitting position.

Wave: Kurome, are you okay?

Kurome didn't reply when she closed the room door and remained silent as she walked over and stood a foot away from him at the side of his bed.

Kurome: I... can't sleep… not even with my big sis...

The she poked the ends of her index fingers together anxiously.

Kurome: Um... S-So... Um... C-Could I stay in here with you…?

Wave: Um... Yeah, sure.

Wave scoot over in the bed so Kurome could pull open the covers and climb in next to him, Wave returning them to their proper position when she had situated herself. They laid down with their backs facing one another and stayed like that for a few moments before Wave closed his eyes and took it upon himself to break the ice.

Wave: Kurome?

Kurome: Yes, Wave?

Wave: W-Why did you really come into my room?

Kurome turned herself over onto her other shoulder and faced Wave, seeing that he had also done the same thing, and ended up with her face resting less then a foot away from his. She stared into his eyes, and smiled since he had seen right through her.

Kurome: You already know the answer to that, handsome.

Kurome brought her hands up and cupped Wave's cheeks before she kissed him in the lips, the warm fuzzy feeling in her chest blooming into a full-blown flower glowing with life as they allowed themselves to give in to their love. Soon after as they continued to kiss, Kurome began to push herself up and over Wave when he rolled onto his back, her knees digging into the bed on either side of his hips. They finally were able to pull apart and Kurome blushed heavily with a smile as she leaned back and sat herself down on his midsection, Wave unable to say anything as she traced a finger across the center of his chest.

Kurome: Wave…

Her fingers curled up underneath the rim of her shirt and she began to mess around with it, scrunching it up out of nervousness.

Kurome: I... I… I...

Wave could see that she was having difficulty expressing her feelings, since almost all of her life had been filled with death, despair and vengeance, and he couldn't help but smile a little at her awkwardness. Kurome gasped a little when he leaned up and cupped one of her cheeks with a single hand, his eyes gazing into hers and causing a feeling of calm to wash through her system.

Wave: I love you too, Kurome.

Kurome's eyes widened a fraction of inch before she smiled and wrapped her arms around his neck so that she could kiss Wave again, her body pressing itself up against his chest as they fell back onto the bed. After his back hit the sheets again, she let go of his neck and slipped off her panties while Wave took off her shirt and discarded it, Kurome's heart skipping a beat when she returned to the straddling position and felt embarrassed now that she was completely naked before him. Wave stared in awe at Kurome's womanly yet physically fit body and small breasts.

Wave: Kurome... you are absolutely beautiful...

Kurome's blush came back even redder then before from the compliment, but she smiled still and lifted herself up with her legs in order to reach down and slip her hands under the rim of Wave's boxers to pull them down and let free his erect member. When she did, she was left in a state of awe upon seeing its sheer size.

Kurome: So this is what it looks like.

Akame: Yeah. Plus, if I'm lucky enough, maybe I can find some kind of antidote for these scars.

Najenda: Oh right, the Doctor with Perfector said that those scars of yours are indeed permanent.

They all turned and saw Phelix and Raydia walking over to them.

Tatsumi: What is it?

Tatsumi and Esdeath: Mizore!

Kije chuckled when they pretty much sprinted at her to see their daughter after being separated from her for such a long time. Kije handed Mizore gently over to Esdeath and she smiled as she caressed her daughter's tiny cheek with her finger, Mizore's nose shriveling up as she let out a tiny whimper since her touch had awoken her from her slumber. Tatsumi gently ran a hand through the small tuft of sky blue hair on Mizore's hair.

Tatsumi: We miss you so much, our little angel.

Esdeath: We can't thank you enough for taking care of her, but really, thank you.

Kije nodded her head.

Kije: Of course, it was my pleasure. Oh, by the way, there is something we think you might find highly interesting.

Tatsumi: What do you mean?

Kije pointed to the base of Mizore's neck, then she reached over and pulled down the edge of the blanket she was wrapped in. Tatsumi and Esdeath and the others gasped when, staring right back at them on Mizore's chest, was the very same tattoo Esdeath had on her, which could mean one thing and one thing only.

Esdeath: She... She was born with Demon's Extract in her blood?!

Eve: Not just in her blood, the Teigu it's present throughout her entire system. It seems that with her being your daughter, she inherited the abilities of Demon's Extract naturally. That tattoo appeared a few weeks ago and ever since then, at sporadic moments, small ice crystals materialize in the air around her.

Najenda: If that's truly the case... then... that would mean that... we might be looking at the most powerful Demon's Extract user in existence... Probably even more powerful than Esdeath herself...

Tatsumi and Esdeath and the others marveled at the tattoo and immediately think of the future and the possibility that Mizore could become even more stronger then her very own mother. Esdeath smiled happily and hugged Mizore just a little bit tighter, wanting to bring her as close to her heart as physically possible.

Since then, a lot of things have occurred and changed in the Reformed Empire. A few months after the end of the revolution and the corrupt regime, after things stabilized in the imperial capital and reconstruction was well underway, Najenda and Lubbock got married, and Najenda herself got pregnant with Lubbock's child, a boy. Then the two, along with Lance and the Leader of the Revolutionary Army, formed and new imperial council and began to work hard to find the closest blood relative to the child Emperor Makoto to take over the lead of the new government. With a recommendation from Lance, Kana become the new Great General of the imperial military, like she had always wanted ever since she was young. Nuge, Hemi, Nakaido, Pais, Ritone, the members of the Teigu troops, and the other surviving Generals and members of the Revolutionary Army, officially join the Reformed Empire's new military ranks. The Path of Peace also become the official religion of the Reformed Empire. Trade between the Reformed Empire and its neighbors resumed after such a long time, and the Sun Kingdom took a step further by sharing some of the technology it had developed on its own with them, as well as a lot of its own culture that quickly spread like wildfire and built up an enormous reputation within the Reformed Empire and beyond. Furthermore, considering the fact that Dr. Theodore Von Branica was a descendant of one of those who cooperated in the creation of the Teigus, it was believed that there might be more descendants of the creators of the Teigus out there, so a massive search began to find and recruit them in order to create new Teigus to replace the ones that were destroyed, or at least create weapons that could rival them. The option of rebuilding Shikoutazer was also considered. Phelix, Raydia, Raymond and Eve, returned to the Sun Kingdom with their army back across the great ocean that separated the two nations. In addition, Chelsea had decided to move to Sun and was allowed to join the Royal Guard. A few weeks after that, news arrived saying that Phelix and Raydia had married, the two becoming the new rulers of the kingdom and that Raydia herself got pregnant with Phelix's child, a girl. Sasrika, Rashad, and Mr. Zengen, alongside the remainder of the Western Country's army and the surviving members of Inferno, returned to their home now that their jobs had been completed and proceeded to focus on their rebuilding of their own nation after the invasion that had occurred a long time ago prior. Mine also joined the military ranks of her homeland. Sasrika and Rashad also got married and Sasrika herself got pregnant with Rashad's child, a boy. Leone and Run joined the new imperial police and began to help the people of the Reformed Empire. Kije and Logue opened an inn and received part of the imperial treasury, and also received part of the Sun Kingdom's treasury from Prince Raymond. Logue became determined to enter the imperial military training academy when she was old enough and join the military ranks of the Reformed Empire. Furthermore, she began receiving love letters from Raymond, but she didn't answer them out of shyness. Wave and Kurome also got married and they soon left the Reformed Empire on the boat the former's parents owned, the Jaeger keeping his promise to her by taking her on a trip around the world to see places things she never has before. Kurome herself also got pregnant with Wave's child, a girl. In Tatsumi's home village, he and Esdeath gave all the citizens a large sum of money that they had never had before. Tatsumi and Esdeath had also brought the bodies of Sayo and Ieyasu back to the village and held a funeral for them. The citizens were saddened by their deaths, but they were happy that they would never have to fall into poverty and starvation again. As promised, Liliana and Kuou vanished without a trace and were never seen or heard from again by anyone. They all could only guess where they had gone to. Now, the Reformed Empire as whole has recovered somewhat from the revolution and was more or less back on its feet. Seeing that Reformed Empire was doing very well, Akame set out on the vast ocean for the island nation to the east known as Wakoku, the nation that, according to Rongo Rongo, was the one that created Murasame. As for Esdeath, she never returned to the imperial military and instead took up residence with Tatsumi and Mizore in the mansion given to the Jaegers, living in peace with her husband and daughter without worry. She also kept her pet Wyvern. What they had all fought for, a world where not only their children, but the children of the entire next generation could grow up in without worry, had finally been realized. All of the blood, sweat, tears, and all of the friends and loved ones who had given the ultimate sacrifice, it all led to this moment in time. The bridge to the future.
