Don't Hug Me Designs by Dragimal Don't Hug Me Designs by Dragimal
after all the recent hype about Don't Hug me I'm Scared, I decided to come up w/ my own versions of the notepad and clock!

EDIT- THANK YOU :iconthelionmedal: FOR TELLING ME HOW TO DO THE LINEART THING ON GIMP

Clock-
- male
- white
- I want to reiterate that he's an old white guy, cus' old white guys are constantly stealing, taking over, and rewriting history, so who better to play a corrupt clock?
- the belts on his waste have numbers on them to tell the time, and spin so that each arrow of the tie is pointing to the correct time (they're usually just the hour/minute numbers, but he can change them at will to larger or smaller increments, such as years, decades, millennium...)
- clock eyeglass
- keeps fish in his pockets cus' why the hell not. related note- one of those rly awful atheists that scoffs at religion, goes on tirades about evolution (fish are often seen by popular media as the "start" of evolution), and generally makes everyone uncomfortable (and I don't mean this as a critique of atheists, as I'm an atheist-something-maybe myself, but I mean specifically the fedora-wearing, "euphoric" atheists)
- space cape
- Clock is under the illusion that he can actually sing (he can't), so whenever he tries, Notepad quietly throws various objects at him until he stops (pencils, glitter, viscera, globs of oil... whatever seems most effective at the time. usually oil, tho, "Whoa there, friend, you might need to slow down-")
- I think I drew him too stretched, so his torso region is supposed to be a bit more squashed and rounded than it is here (the legs are fine tho... he has very long legs..)

Notepad-
- agender
- black
- wears a big labcoat (viscera-> anatomy-> science, yeha...) over layers upon layers of other clothes and such (notepads have many pages, and layers of concealment). nobody rly knows how many layers of clothes there are, cus' they kinda just appear sometimes. labcoat sleeves are often rolled up
- because there are so many layers, nobody rly knows what their body shape is either (some whisper about them being a skeletal figure with their innards hanging freely out of torn flesh and skin)
- always wears that mask (the notepad never rly seemed to change emotion or expression at all, so it's like they're wearing a 'mask' of joy), so nobody knows what their face looks like either
- all sorts of art-related things can be found in their labcoat pockets, such as a magnifying glass, pencils, paints, sticks, glitter, etc. while other, more sinister things are pulled out from deeper layers of clothes (relating back to that one point above about their body shape, some theorize that the innards that they pull out of their clothes are their own..)
- always followed by a trail of oil
- contrary to popular belief, Notepad doesn't hate green. they just don't see green as creative on its own, and they still have plenty of outfits hiding under their layers that include green. on a related note, they hate nature. Notepad sees a butterfly? it's smacked against a blank page and called "abstract art". there's a recycling bin? cuts it into various bits to use as "makeshift gladiator armor" then just throws the pieces into the ocean when they're done. there's a rally for clean water procedures? they dump oil and glitter on all the people at the rally, and replace the drinking water w/ oil. there's another "protect the rainforest" rally? they cut down all the neighborhood trees and use them for linkin logs and word-making sticks.
- Notepad is constantly whining about Clock's fashion sense-
"A tie AND a bowtie? At the same time? Argyle socks too? And that comb-over-"
"Like you're much better, you angular guttersnipe."
"Actually, I am-" and they just whip off their labcoat to reveal fucking gorgeous ballgowns and classy suits, and Clock just stands there in awe, like, "Oh god, they're right-"
- one of the few times you'll ever see something like true innocence or vulnerability in Notepad is when they're looking at or talking about the sky/clouds, or flying in general (there are some little hints to flying and such at the very very beginning of the video, but I dunno what the significance might be, so...)

Both designs look amazing, and so fitting! *U*

(I do not know what programm do you use, but normally, setting the pencil-lined layer to Multiply and coloring on a layer underneath works for that x3)

ahh thank you!

y'know, that's what tutorials I found said too, but I can NOT for the life of me find multiply. I use GIMP and, apparently, on there, multiply is on the "mode" section of the "layers" menu, but there ISN'T a "mode" section on my "layers" menu, and I am so frustrated

Aahhh there's a way to do it in GIMP! I can't quite remember where it was, probably on the color or layer windows, but there's an option called Color to Alpha. Once you select it, you pick a color and the programm will identify it as transparent: you've simply got to colourpick your paper's white, and you're done x3
