For species and their cultures, I try to create something of a core identity that sticks with them, then build from there. You'll see that with the upcoming entries on the different Elves and Orcs of Gaiaxia and how they've evolved their El'Koryn ancestral traditions.

In full honesty, I spend what could be considered an unhealthy amount of time thinking about Gaiaxia. It's gone from a simple side project for D&D to a full-on passion project that is almost always on my mind and being worked on whenever possible. I'm even creating my own TTRPG system set in Gaiaxia!

It's telling the story of the first people to inhabit my homebrewed world of Gaiaxia.
All of this started about 8 years ago with my friend group picking up D&D. I wasn't content with playing in someone else's world, so I started to work on my own. It's gone through countless changes and redesigns since then, but I've finally settled on an identity and have put numberless hours into working on it.

Now, I'm sharing it with the world, for better or worse. (Hopefully better)

That depends heavily on which Dragon species the Dragonborn hails from, and even more so based on the individual Dragonborn. Many Dragonborn enter relationships with a clear understanding of their reality, placing honesty above hope from the very beginning. Some choose partners and accept, sometimes painfully, that their lives will be lived at different speeds, loving deeply despite the knowledge that they will outlast those they cherish. Others avoid such bonds altogether, not from coldness, but from a desire to spare themselves and others the weight of inevitable loss.

Relationships with Dragons are far more rare and complex. A Dragonborn may be seen as a legacy, a disappointment, a curiosity, or a responsibility, depending entirely on the Dragon in question. In either case, most Dragonborn learn early that family is not something guaranteed by blood alone, and many go on to build chosen families instead, defined by loyalty, shared purpose, and mutual respect.
