What is what now? Never heard of it before now, so...

"What is boymoding?", you ask. Well Mr. Shapiro, I'm delighted to inform you.

Boymoding: Verb; The act of a transgender (Male to Female) person presenting oneself as male while transitioning to female.

Boymoders are transgender women whom attempt to present as male while transitioning with feminizing hormones (Estradiol, spironolactone, etc). Due to social anxiety, boymoders are often afraid of showing any outward signs of femininity, attempting to avoid being identified, or "clocked" (colloquial term), as being transgender.

The term "boymoding" originates from the term "boy mode", and as such can be considered as a noun or a verb. i.e. "I am in boy mode, therefore I am boymoding."

So then, you might ask why anyone would consider boymoding. Put simply, transgender women (including myself, a prominent figure in the boymoding community) are afraid of being clocked for many reasons. Being clocked as transgender by certain individuals can incite discrimination, violence, or judgment on many levels, including personal and legislative.

As of the time of writing, the process of transgender individuals transitioning to their desired gender can be arduous, and so the act of boymoding can help to alleviate the societal pressure of transitioning, until one is ready to present fully is their desired gender.
