Ice eyes glimmered above a yellow smile.  Dirty blond strands tickled the tough flesh.  Each footstep sounded heavy as a large hand reached for him.  Beros tried to put more distance between him and Turin’s hand.  He bumped into Sanatos.  They tried to stay on their feet, but the need to flee from the hand pulled Beros down.  The hunter laughed as Beros kept his eyes on him.  Sanatos snapped behind him, drawing Beros’ attention.    Hunters held him down.  Yet, Sanatos still snared at them, unwilling and unforgiving.  The orange tinted eyes darted around, landing on the half dwarf.    “Come on now, lad.  Time to have

But he couldn’t look at them long.  The one next to his bathroom door was a flower.  It drew its life giver from a red vase.  Gold rimmed its edge.  White scallop patterns covered its neck.  It rested on a crème lace on top of a dark surface.    The flower-    Its yellow petals stretched out, trying to touch the edges of the frame.    Another hung by the door leading to the hall.  Green pastures filled the frame.  They were speckled with light blue and pale yellow dots.  Above it, blue skies w

The days started to blur.  Between blankly staring out the iron bars and jiggling the chain, his mind struggled to find anything to focus on.  The frost on the iron bars was normal.  As were the puffs of air he exhaled, which hung around for a bit before disappearing.  Sanatos buried his face into his cloak, curling in tighter on himself.  Beros paid his past life little mind.  He pulled his cloak tighter and his legs closer to his chest.  He opened his eyes more as a snort broke the silence.    A horse and rider peered in.  Beros locked his eyes with the rider, but buried his face in his arms.  He closed his eyes as he allowed his mind

Voices drifted in and out as he stirred.  His shoulders’ complained, increasing as he tried to move them.  Beros flinched, biting back a hiss.  As the pain ebbed away, he licked his cracked lips.  His mouth begged for moisture as if it was dried with cotton.  Something covered his eyes, obstructing any attempt of opening them.  He lifted his head a little and opened his mouth.  “Hello?”    The voices stopped.  Then, one of them spoke again, ordering another to a task.  It sounded like a deep guttural rumble.  It carried authority over the others.  He didn’t try to count them as the man’s held his attention.

‘The pleasant warm fall temperatures didn’t last.  We managed to fly north and camp outside the town.  During the overnight of the first day, the temperature dropped.  It forced us to cram into a single tent for warmth.  I swear; I spent that night trying to avoid touching my mentor, whom squeezed between Sanatos and me.  She had sworn that she would beat us to a bloody pulp if we give her any funny business impressions.  And I believe that she would.    In the morning, frost on the plant life and our tent attempted to blind, but only succeeded in looking like glitter.  We rigged down and went into town, working odd jobs to h
