Birds and Dinosaurs - My Issue
Birds and Dinosaurs - My Issue
In 1860 a fossil feather was discovered and given the holotype name of Archaeopteryx.  Not knowing from what animal it came from, paleontologists left the feather at that until about fifteen years later, when in 1875 an almost perfectly preserved specimen was discovered in Germany of an animal that looked like a grotesque fusion of lizard and bird, complete with feathers, claws, and teeth.  Early paleontologists were quick to realize what they had on their hands; the first real transitional fossil suggesting that reptiles, particularly dinosaurs, were linked with modern birds.
Skip forward about 137 or so years into the future, and we come to the modern age of dinosaurs.  Proclaimed by the media to be "the Golden Age of Dinosaur Discoveries," we now know that dinosaurs and birds are linked almost exclusively with each other as archosaurs.  Today, however, we dress up our model dinosaurs not with the scales and armor of their traditional p

Why Giants aren't so Bad*ss
Spinosaurus: Why Giants aren't so Bad*ss!
In October of 1989, when director Steven Spielberg was speaking with science fiction author Michael Crichton about ideas for screenplay of a TV series, the author let slip the news that he planned on writing a book about geneticists resurrecting dinosaurs.  Before any other deals were done, Spielberg demanded rights to a screenplay for the book, which was a non-negotiable fee of 1.5 million US Dollars along with a fair percentage of the gross from the film.  Crichton agreed, and before he had even published his final draft, the film Jurassic Park was on its way to development.  Four years later, it would hit the big screen as one of the biggest films of our age, roughly three years after the book was released.  By then, Jurassic Park was a bestseller, and was well on its way to becoming Crichton's signature novel, so the movie took the world by storm.  By May of 2013, the film's total earnings has equal

I'm Also on TAPAS, Now!

tapas.io/Dr-XIII
tapas.io/series/ByoScar

-----------------------------------
Now on Commissions, I will only charge 1300 points or $13 for a full Commission, 7 for Line-art only. Here are some restrictions:

1. Please keep your request to Original Characters (No Fan Characters). That's One restriction. Asking to do a commission of YOU is okay as long as it's an OC. (A little loophole would be if your OC is caught up in a scene of certain movie like the Jurassic Park series, or a Dinosaur Videogame like the Dino Crisis series or Turok series, BUT NO COSPLAYS)

2. Another is that I'm not really good at drawing Anthropomorphs (Furries), so NO FURRIES. PLUS I'm limited to Primates, Theropods (including Birds), Pterosaurs, Crocodylomorphs, Sharks, and Arthopods. If any sign of Anthropomorphism in my Theropods, they would NOT be standing erect, which is unnatual, but they would be using their hands more often, and they'd have a better grip. THAT'S IT. I also can do Mechs.

3. And for the Love of God, NO PORNOGRAPHIC ACTIONS OR FULL EROTIC NUDITY!!! DeviantART wouldn't allow it, anyway! However, excessive violence, blood and gore, and profanity are apparently okay as long as I mark it as mature content. No Racism, Sexism or Anti-Gay statements either.

4. Please wait your turn. I do a new submission every Friday, and I may do one or two at a time.
-----------------------------------

-----------------------------------
Tilaustöistä: veloitan tilaustyöstä 1300 pistettä tai $13, pelkät lineartit maksavat $7.

Thanks for the fav on Inktober 23: Muddy - Let's Wrastle!

:happybounce:

I don’t like to brag but a few years back, I actually spent some time in a mud puddle. You know, just standing there, ankle deep, in dirty, brackish, water, soaking up the vibe, and my socks. I didn’t learn anything from the experience, nor did I stumble upon any grand breaking epiphany. I just stood there, as the brownish soup filled my shoes. It was a little chilly, but not too bad. It wasn’t a particularly pleasant or unpleasant situation to be in, and while I wouldn’t exactly recommend it, I wouldn’t try to dissuade you from trying it. Overall, if you forced me to rate my experience of standing in a muddy puddle, I’d say 2.5 stars out of 5. So adjust your expectations accordingly.

Thanks for the fav on Inktober 20: Breakable - By the power of Grayskull

:happybounce:

I had the power of Grayskull once. It was nice. And really useful for opening tough jar lids or that time I had to help a friend move house. It also came in handy when a raging horde of interdimensional hell fiends decided to invade my apartment bathroom. I still have no idea what they were after, although I suspect my toilet sit cover was the likely target (it’s enviably soft and fluffy). Glen, from marketing, can’t keep his hungry eyes off it whenever I host the weekly game of corporate mandated snakes and ladders. Team building exercises are the worst, am I right? Anyway, if I had to put money on who sent those infernal imps, I’m going with Glen. Ralph, over in accounts, is giving me good odds so fingers crossed that I win the pool. As for the power of Grayskull, well, I kind of lost it to unsavoury individual in a game of high stakes, backroom SNAP! But I’m sure he’ll put it to good use.

Thanks for the fav on Inktober 15 - Weak a.k.a Beware the wild tube man

:happybounce:

Not a great deal is known about the wilderness people of the inflatable tube. Many have ventured into the dark reaches of the urban sprawl, trying to document their carefree behaviour and unusual population patterns, but to this day, they remain one of nature’s greatest mysteries. Despite millions of Guarani spent in market research, many questions still remain. Where do these tube people come from? Why are they so energetically happy? What is it about car dealerships that seems to attract them? Do they ever wax poetic on their role in the cosmic samba that is life on this planet? Have they ever practiced ritualistic cannibalism? Join us next week as we attempt to answer some of these burning questions when we finally put a tube person through some “advanced interrogation”. Be sure to tune in.

Thanks for the fav on Inktober 13 - Guarded a.k.a Priceless Pickle Caper

:happybounce:

The delightful fellow on the left, a one Alan Beauregard Yance XXVII, has, believe it or not, never played a game of hockey in his life. Can’t stand the game actually. Too many passages of play between fights, apparently. However, he is an avid supporter of team loyalty. And although he knows nothing about the Pathological Unicorns as a hockey franchise, nor has he ever seen one their games, their dedication to lax sportsmanship, hyper aggressive harassment of elected officials, and fanatical counter-indoctrination of pigeon migration, as evidenced by their team mascot, is something he cannot ignore. He wears their colors in solidarity of these ideals. The guy on the right, Hognork the Defenestrator, used to work mall security. He doesn’t like to talk about it.

When they aren’t protecting solid gold fermented cucumbers, they’re hitting the streets. Don’t worry, they wear gloves so the asphalt doesn’t tear up their knuckles. And they do all this in search for the goat that murdered their father. And no, they’re not brothers. That would be ridiculous. They’re fathers were brutally murdered on completely separate afternoons. By the same goat…

Thanks for the fav on Inktober 5 - Chicken a.k.a Safety First

:happybounce:

Throughout human history there have been a lot of timeless questions. Is there a God? Is there such a thing as fate? Why do my moles keep switching places? If a chicken driving at 67 MPH leaves the station at 3.10pm but passes through school zone, does he get a speeding ticket or just a warning? Has anyone ever actually used Trigonometry in real life? Is there intelligent life on this planet? Where do we go when we die? Where am I now? Oh God, how did I get here? Who are you people? What are you going to do to me? Oh, right. Yep, no I remember now. I totally should have seen this coming. Tony’s money. No, I understand. You’re just doing your jobs. No hard feelings. Oh, knees or toes? That’s a tough one. Umm…Toes, please. Nice claw hammer, did you get that from Home Depot? On sale, lucky. Oh right, yeah. Go ahead. CRUNCH!

Thanks for the fav on Inktober Day 2 - Tranquil a.k.a Completely Stoned

:happybounce:

I don’t want to get too political but I have a real issue with the War on Drugs. It isn’t so much the hypocrisy that bothers me, I mean you hear about people surviving drug related deaths all the time, so obviously the Drugs aren’t winning. And it isn’t the idea of War, either. If I had my druthers, I’d say there isn’t enough war, but I come from a very dysfunctional family, so that could just be me. My issue is that if we are going to go to war with inanimate objects, we really need to be more discerning about who the real enemy is. Pavement. It’s a silent killer and nobody is talking about it. Do you know how many people concrete kills each year? Of course you don’t, nobody does, because we haven’t done the recon necessary to really understand this threat. And if you’re one of those, live and let lie sort of people, and you think that I’m crazy to even consider that a footpath might be plotting the downfall of our civilization then I ask you this. When was the last time someone stepped all over you without a second thought and it didn’t make you want to kill them? I rest my nutcase.

Thanks for the fav on Inktober 2018 - 1: Poisonous aka. Oh Crap!

:happybounce:

I don’t know about you but I’m thinking about becoming deathly afraid of snakes. I realize it’s a big commitment, I mean we only get so many phobias in life and it’s important to pick the right ones for your lifestyle. I’ve experimented with a bit of Koumpounophobia but it conflicted with my extreme distaste of t-shirts, so I had to pass. Then there was my short flirtation with a fear of dishtowels, but nobody takes you seriously in the dishwasher community with that kind of limitation. My most recent attempt was by far the worst. In my arrogance I tried cultivating a fear of success and a fear of failure simultaneously and then spent 5 years doing nothing, anxious that I might not be good at either. But I’m ready to put all that behind me and embrace a terror as socially acceptable as Ophidiophobia. With a fear like that, my future career in poisonous reptile rehabilitation is guaranteed.

Can you imagine the sort of dedication and sacrifice it must take to guard a holy object? All those seconds spent putting your life on the line, willing to take a bullet for something that might not even be all that important. I mean sure, everyone’s heard of Saint Bernard of Beethovenshireton and his quasi-miraculous axe, but how holy can a cheese sandwich really be? It’s not even toasted. I certainly don’t want to start any sort of religious debate about the elastic nature of cheese, but I just don’t get it. But then my faith in things is pretty low. For example, I’m still on the fence about this whole rain business. For all I know, it could just be a figment on my neighbor’s imagination. The only things I truly believe in are the three large, ambidextrous mountain trout beating me about the head with multi-colored pool noodles every half hour or so. If you ask me, infrequent impact to the cranium is the only way to be certain of anything these days.

Some people pick Strange Idols to start a Religion, these days.

Provided you ask me about this reincarnation thing, I think I was a Carrion Crow that steals Salmon Sandwiches in a previous life.

I don't mean to be disparaging to your previous life, but that kind of dietary restriction might explain why it died. I can't imagine it's terribly easy to find salmon sandwiches in the wild. Sweating a little...

Yeah, that one Salmon Sandwich was the last I've ever stolen. As the girl I stole it from had friends; a Harrison Hawk flew in and broke my neck. Needless to say; I was a fearless Sandwich Thief. I ended up paying for the last Theft, with my life. XP And now you know why it feels good when I pop my neck whenever I feel stiff. :XD:
