This piece has been sitting in my sketchbook for almost a year, screaming to be created. I started modelling Poison Ivy with every intention of putting her in a piece with Harley Quinn, but the model was never quite high enough in quality.
Over the last 6 months, I've modelled her from scratch 3 different times, tried several different outfits and textures, multiple hair styles, a dozen different poses, and even a couple alternate backdrops. It just never felt right.
This past weekend, I sequestered myself in my studio and told myself I'd finish her one way or another. Several sleepless nights and it's finally ready to be shared. I have a laundry list of items I'd like to alter/tweak/experiment on, but I have to call it done or I'll end up starting all over again.
*EDIT* - Several comments were made about her hair needing to be more red, so I decided to mess with it a bit and redden it up. I admit, it does look better.
That is a very excellent image of Poison Ivy you've created there! It has a flawlessly painted look to it that is so well done, I could actually see this being a scene from a DC comics graphic novel featuring Poison Ivy. It really does look that perfect and official, which is high praise indeed since naturally that is the look you were going for with this - making it recognizable and exactly the way Poison Ivy should look. And speaking of her look, she looks beautiful but deadly, with an obvious sensuality that is not over the top but natural and totally in character for her. The Arkham background is quite an inspired choice! What a cool choice for an outfit for her, by the way... it is nice to see her in a normal bodysuit-style costume rather than the leaf bikini look that most artists tend to go for when depicting her. I actually prefer this look of yours to those takes on Ivy... it is more believable as a normal, functional but also sexy costume for a supervillainess such as Poison Ivy. Speaking of natural and less over the top things, you picked a good shade of natural red for her hair that isn't super blood red like many images I've seen... this version of her you've made just plain screams realism and believability, and for me those are all aspects of a superior superhero or supervillain depiction. Definitely going to favorite this one!
