Onthehouse by DoodleLyle Onthehouse by DoodleLyle
This is a piece of pseudo-bomber art created in hopes of selling it to a screen print company that was selling a lot of bomber jackets in Japan in the 90s. I labored over this for a couple of days, using a photo of my wife (taken in her teens) as the basis for the pose--only to have the deal fall through. The "mixed-media" is pantone marker and color pencil, primarily. The reference to "USAAC" is based on the fact that the US Air Forces were actually under the Army during WWII (thus "United States Army Air Corps" is the correct designation). This is also one of the first uses of the lower case "jel" to sign my work.
