Soooo I haven't been around for quite some time (I haunt DA quite a bit) but I feel like I've slipped out of touch so much since I kind of stopped drawing. I miss the days where I'd crank out pieces and was more active in the community. My husband is kindly but firmly pushing me towards doing art again. He just finished doing NaNoWriMo like a Boss despite being down for a third of it with an awful flu. So. I'm trying again. We'll see how it goes. Baby steps.
This picture is because a coworker asked if I'd be willing to do a picture for her Mom as a birthday present. I've always enjoyed doing the Flower Girl pics and felt like I could do this. It took a couple weeks of looking for a good reference photo (Oh which btw here's the one I used for the pose:
) and trying my hand at it. Funny how a year and change of not picking up a pencil can make things so difficult. But I made it. Had to dig all my art stuff out of storage from when I moved. Coloring was surprisingly not that bad to get into again. The lines are colored micron pens, the flower and lady are colored in Copic markers, the background is a quick watercolor wash with little flowers drawn with souffle gelly roll pens.
Picture is from my cell phone because I haven't had access to a scanner in years.
