I could tell she wanted to eat me but not by any of the obvious reasons a succubus would lead on. She never once gave the impression of some kind of demon that wanted to rip part from my spine and squeeze my spleen like a sponge spilling blood over her rare panda bear rug, and her large collection of lit candles.
I still remember that stare from across the bar. It was a classy joint, one where the mention of beer would get every man in a suit jacket to stare at you like you just bashed someone over the head with a rock. "Wine?" The Monolith Chapter Fifteen
The room was bright, bright enough to give every one the same pounding headache as they entered the room, shielding their eyes. Already their minds were cracking, falling apart like eggs about to be cooked. They had just left behind two people in a room alive. They knew that either the room will eventually kill them or they will day along with time and time in the monolith isn't forgiving.
Somewhere in the whiteness that made the room, archways arose, thirty of them each labeled above with a single word. Snake. Flyer. Yellow. Water. The words were simple and unique. They were hard to see and at first they didn't make any sense to the remaini

The room was empty and that made them all smile. No food this time, not even supplies of any kind. It was just an empty room with no door. They room was small so that when they all lied down, their feet touched. That didn’t matter because the exhaustion took over and they all fell deep into the souls of their minds to rest.
There were no dreams, just a voice that repeated, "One Wish." The voice got louder and when they were awake they noticed the room had grown larger.
"I can't do this anymore."
Everyone was crouched around a single body. It was Simone, and there in the room now ten times the size as it was before was a dead body wit

Sixteen of them stood alive, breathing, some heaving. Mendy and Jack tried to create some kind of structure during this moment to regroup but it was impossible. The teams were in disarray, many were hurt, two had missing limbs and we did what we could to bandage them up. They had lost many supplies and food throughout the last couple of obstacles and sat in shock. Their eyes were glazed; their spirits torn pulled from their bodies and dragged down the rocks outside. They ate what they had, left everything but one bag they used to bandage the hurt, but they were already low on supplies.

At this point they had no idea how many of us were left. We stood in a corridor with walls that slid back and forth. The light showed bright as we entered but now as each wall slid closed, the darkness ran in. The closed at different speeds but we were trapped in the darkness, hearing the sounds of the doors slam shut as a bone crushing speed and strength.
They all heard someone step forward and they heard the bone crushing sound tear through their skin and hearts. They’re throats went dry and they felt sick like they had tiny rabbits biting each other to death inside them.

Darkness is a funny thing. If a bird plucked out your eyes, you'd be just as blind. If you died, perhaps you wouldn't know. Darkness wasn't a friend to the group and the first person to yell made everyone's heart skip.
There was crying. There was heartache but worst of all their was that yell.
"Who was it?" a woman said.
"Who said that?" a male voice asked.
"Where's that bastard? They all knew that quivering voice. It was once the sound of someone who knew what he was doing, a leader, now it sounded like an angry teenager who didn't get what he wanted. He just wanted everyone to live. He wanted George to live, to breathe.

Jack woke with everyone running around like caged lizards. Colors filled his eyes as he saw the plastic tubes running up and around the gigantic room. "Good you're up." The voice was unfamiliar but as he focused he realized it was Tegan.
"What's going on?"
"Accessing the room. No traps or dangers, so now it's time to get ready. Are you up to it?" She said all this without even looking at Jack's face.
"It's like a giant hamster city."
"Yeah. Crazy right?" He laughed almost proud to see what lied in front of their eyes. "A giant hamster city. I call it Hamstertopia."
She finally turned, removing herself from the dazed induced by the room a

When you hate something, sometimes it’s hard to keep from kicking it too hard. Jack stood next to the man asleep, kicking him. "Wake up."
Paul reacted violently, jumping back onto his hands with a look of dire fear on his face. "Finally caught up to you," George said.
Marina shook her head. "I actually hoped you had died back there."
"Well," he brushed himself off, trying to regain composure. He wanted to kill them. He didn't know why, but the feeling was there in the back of his head, knocking. "Well, I figured I'd scout ahead for you guys."
"Yeah, sure," Jack said walking away from the scared man. "Mendy, what do we got here?"

They rested and life felt good. Not in the same sense of leaning against a tree on a bright sunny day but like digging a hole for hours, only to find the tiniest bit of shade behind a sun wrmed boulder kind of good. It was better, that was for sure. They ate and it felt filling. They laughed and exchanged stories, even though they didn't remember anything. But they felt good.
"Mendy, sit with us," Marina yelled at the girl from across the room.
Jack passed around a sandwich that was in a plastic bag to Mendy.
"How do we know they aren't poison?" she knocked the sandwich out of Jack's hand.

Mendy was again the first to venture off and as she disappeared above them, the rest followed up the stairway.
"Stairs?"
Their arms were on fire and now they stared at an obstacle that would make their legs enflamed like a furnace as well.
They climbed. The staircase was big enough for two people to walk comfortably side by side and so they split into groups, taking a break for what they thought was around ten minutes. They stayed together and rested together. Time vanished, their eyes began to hurt and

Diary of a Madman July 30th
July 30, 1988
Dear Diary,
Today is my birthday and my loving husband bought me a wonderful gift - you. I guess after we found all of my old diaries stored in the attic, he knew I would love to have a new one. So today I am overjoyed to have such a loving husband. By the way, Diary, his name is Kurt. We have been married for 3 years and we have never been happier.
Kurt couldn't get out from work early, or so that is what he told me. He wants me to meet him at my favorite restaurant tonight. Of course, it's a surprise party. It's more than obvious; but I'm still wondering who will be there. Sally and Steve, for sure. Maybe the Carlsons will

An excerpt from a tape recording of Martin Stevens' interview with Dr. Henry Wurzbach.
1/20/89 9:00 A.M.
"How are you doing today, Martin?" Doctor Wurzbach's voice entered through the static.
"Good," Martin replied.
"If you do not mind Martin, I would like to go ahead and ask about the first time you discovered your ability," Doctor Wurzbach said with his deep calm voice.
"Sure. Like I said before, it all just kind of happened. Well, I was out with my friends. We were walking home from practice and we got to the bridge across from the park. Michael jumped on the stone wall on one side of the
It's quite strange how we met. The patter of electronic signals passing through the lines. The sound of the computer fans buzzing by my ear. The moaning of the woman I was currently having sex with. Across from us was her husband who was having sex with a much younger girl. She was closer to my age than the couple was.
We stood outside the doorway to the apartment building fully dressed. "Got a ride?" I asked her. She seemed too innocent to be meeting strangers on the internet and having sex with them. She just nodded her head no. "Neither do I," I said and she smiled. She was quiet when I first walked in the apartment. She sat on the couch
For being a basement, it finally started to feel like home, Ryan thought to himself. He had spent the last two years of his life becoming an artist, while he was kept in the darkness in the bowels of his captor's house.
He wasn't alone. Lorena was about his age, sixteen, but she was still far from trying to make the best of the situation. Ryan didn't blame her.
There were a few positives to living like this and Ryan tried to take advantage with what he had. The basement he was kept in was much bigger than his old room and, more importantly, he was surrounded by all the art supplies he needed. He was currently painting the farthest wall from
The Monolith was never finished... my bad. About 60-70 short stories I wrote were never finished ... also my bad. But... it turns out i have some stuff that just never got published or stories I had plans for in another book. Well guess what? I'm back! And I think I should put stuff here and more importantly ... finish The Monolith.
That's right! I'm can't believe i never finished it. I originally wanted to write the whole thing before i started publishing it's pieces. So this time, I will. In reality there are only about three chapters left, but i lost a lot of information and notes when i got laid off two years ago, which is the real reaso
To make a long story short and to explain why I've fallen behind on my writing is because I was working really hard for the last 15 months to get into the SAFD. And it turns out I start the fire academy next Monday.
Writing wise, The Monolith has two chapters left and I want to get them up ASAP. And that's been my latest writing goal. I've been we too distracted with work and the fire dept to get them clean enough to post here. But they are coming soon, I promise. Hopefully I can get The Monolith in an ebook format soon after and Everyone who was apart of it will get a free copy.
Until then check out some of the other things I've been busy
