Not at all. But now that you mention it, there is a strong resemblence, probably too strong; I'll want to avoid that in future versions. Mine is derived from tree branches, getting more and more stylized. Tridents are originally fish spears, and the springy side bits (often with barbs on the inside) are to help keep the fish from wiggling off the center tine. When I was a kid, small tridents (made of formed sheet metal, not fancy like Posidon has) were still sold in fishing supply stores, and as far as I know, they still are.
