I don't remember if Fallout 1 used the same weapon models. If it use different weapons those have to be modeled separately. I'd check but that would have to be this weekend.

Sadly no. I haven't looked into the differences between the sprites in Fallout 1 and 2, but I'm willing to bet they're non-trivial.
