I think I enjoyed Silmarillion even more than the Lord of the Rings trilogy - probably due to the presence of a few more of the fantastic creatures of Middle Earth. I'm very glad to see one of the other dragons depicted.
Your scale patterns are a lot of fun to follow here, and they lead my eyes right from Glaurung's tail to his head. I'm going to have to try using scales to tie the composition together this way; I love the effect.
