My Life Working in an Interstellar Superstore
My Life Working in an Interstellar Superstore
By Nathan Hopp
Life inside a space depot required a will to survive. And keep yourself sane.
Waking up had to be the hardest part of a typical cycle. I was in-between that realm of optimistic dreams and dull reality, with the latter eventually becoming the definitive pull. After clapping for the morning alarm to cease, I stretched myself out of bed and prepared for today. I showered, put on my company uniform, and exited my cramped personal quarters.
8:00 am.
Clocking in, I got to the floor immediately.
“Welcome to Constellation Enterprises, your interplanetary wholesale friend,” I repeated for what would be the trillionth time in my career. “How may I assist you?”
“Uh, yeah. My company needs fifty-five large containers of B-grade Juniper Fuel.”
“Interplanetary or Intergalactic Class?”
The man onscreen scoffed. “Intergalactic, obviously!”
“Intergalactic it is…” I

Somewhere in the White Void (Patreon story)
Somewhere in the White Void
By Nathan Hopp
Dressed head to toe in layers of a thermal coat, I revved my snowmobile’s engine. It purred to life. I shielded my vision from the intense snowfall until it faded with the sunlight. Speeding out into the cold, lifeless environment, I spotted the excavation site two kilometers away in what used to be London, Great Britain.
“Armstrong,” my coworker, a cougar in ever sense of the word named Earhart, spoke. “I need you to be careful, like always. Follow the beacon and report back.”
            “Yessir,” I nodded.
My fingers grasped the throttle again. I glanced in my rearview mirror to see the outpost’s hangar doors close themselves before dis

THE ADVENTURES OF PETER GRAY Chapter 2 (Preview)
Below is the second chapter excerpt of "The Adventures of Peter Gray". For those unaware, it follows a wolf urchin living on the streets of Manhattan in the year 1899, and the friendship he forms with a human family while getting involved in shenanigans and historical figures from New York City's historic past. It is a historical coming-of-age fantasy with comedy, human/furry rivalry and drama mixed with (you guessed it) adventure for general audiences.

“Whoa!” I froze in my tracks.
So did Lance. “Do ya’ see that?” he asked.
Beside the carriage stood two creatures I thought I’d never see. Both had the skin color of a pig, yet walked on two straight legs. Their muzzles were squished flat, and they had small, stubby ears covered by wool hats. They wore coats and gloves, probably made out of wool from feral sheep. One looked older and the other was me and Lance’s age. They both carried bulky luggage cases while a large puma in a thick co

I hate having olives in my soup.
There, I said it. Nurse Whitley, if you’re reading this while going through my possessions again, do me a favor and stop serving that dreadful vegetable. I don’t care that the home wants me to stay healthy; at least keep olives away from any of my served meals. Especially my afternoon soups, alright?
Thank you.
I cannot believe I’m writing this, but Doctor Calley (that snarky canid) says this is a good way for me to get everything sorted together after all these months. I spend

Interviewing Peter: The Adventures of Peter Gray
*With "The Adventures of Peter Gray" coming out this April, I've decided to conduct an interview with its titular protagonist. In an empty area of 19th Century Central Park, Peter and I are seated across from each other with the young wolf eagerly fidgeting in his seat*
Me: So, I hope you're as excited for this as I am, Peter?
Peter: Ohoho, ya' bet I am, Nathan! Ask away. I'm an open book!
Me: Literally?
Peter: *laughs* Good one.
Me: Tell me about yourself then.
Peter: *gives a wide grin* My name's Peter Gray, and I'm a street urchin living in New York City--specifically Manhattan, beautiful city, it is.
Me: Were you born in New York City, or did you make your way there?
Peter: *looks left and right before leaning forward* Will what I say count as spoilers for your upcoming book?
Me: *shakes head* Go ahead and tell our dear audience.
Peter: Okay! *sits back up and smiles* When I was born, my parents left me at an orphanage in New Jersey. Can't remember much about where it was o

"You must stay drunk on writing so reality cannot destroy you." -Ray Bradbury

Hello~! <3 I'm Domus Vocis, and I am a proud furry writer. Ever since middle and high school, writing fiction has been my calling like a wolf's howl. As I wrote more and took inspiration from fellow authors in and out of the fandom, my love for writing and this fandom has grown over the years. And during those years, I came up with three rules for becoming a more skilled writer.

1) Never wait to write; just write.
2) Don't copy or steal, but be original.
3) Don't let others define what you should and shouldn't write.

Outside of this, I mostly write science fiction, young adult, and contemporary fiction, dabbling on occasion with different genres. I love to binge anime I like, read books and spend my time surviving college exams.

If you enjoy my work, please consider pre-ordering my upcoming debut novel, "The Adventures of Peter Gray" a historical coming-of-age fantasy that'll make you laugh and melt your furry heart! :) If you're interested in pre-orders, follow the link here: writtendreams.com/store/#!/PRE…

On a small side note, I should mention all my stories and OC's are © to me alone. If you wish to borrow any of them, just ask. If not, follow the Three Rules and make your own =) Trust me; a true writer and artist creates his/her own ideas from scratch.
