Shadow Alchemist: Campagin Ribbons by docwinter Shadow Alchemist: Campagin Ribbons by docwinter
I was never happy with the Anime's campaign ribbons, simply because they just duplicated colours in a bar. No military even ficticious would have multiple different ribbons be the same colour

All I can say is these where a pain in the ass to put together, but they looked awesome

From left to Right they are
Top Row: Ishbal War Medal, Aerugo Campaign Medal, Alchemy Proficency Medal, Inspector General Medal (2 tours)
Bottom: Active Service Medal 1901-1910, Conspicious Service Medal,

I dont have a name for the last two medals yet

well technically I drew on my knowledge of military custom to determine the medals. they have no names, they are just blocks of colour, but as I said, in the Anime, the ribbons are just blocks of colour with no differentiation and regardless of the military real or fake, there is no point having ribbons for the sake of it, and no reason for having ribbons of the same colour... let alone different sizes.

I deduced it due to Mustang has almost the identical top row as Azrael except the black bar. and Armstrong doesn't have the big red ribbon. and since he was dismissed from the campaign he wouldn't be eligable for it. so that would be the Ishbal War campaign cause the other alchimests that were there have it as well. Mustang has a Green Ribbon next to it, which would be another campaign ribbon or proficiency, and since the anime has him stationed in the South. That became the Areugo Campaign Medal. the blue ribbon appears a number of times but only on Alchemists so that become the accredidation proficency ribbon. The black one is a service badge, not a merit ribbon. and differs from Mustangs.

The Second row is almost identical to Mustangs, and usually the second row is for service badges and proficiencies as major commendations go on top.

Wow... I must remember this... and alter Camrons ribbons... If you don't mind me doing so... *figuring out the bars on the shoulders was hard enough for me. Although I love all the little details, they are what make the outfits so wonderful*

Oh it'd be MAGICAL if you could get a tutorial up for them! They only thing that sucks is I'm not to great at sewing but if it meant I could make these I'd risk stabbing my finger tips...

that was the difficultly of the last minute attachement process, I had intended on using rare earth magnets but the con arrived before the magnets did :D

I built this costume entirely from scratch, but the hardest piece was the medals.
