Red Dwarf III - 'Backwards' played forwards !!!

Tomorrow on Thursday 14th November 2019, Red Dwarf fandom will be celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the 3rd series of the show, debuting it's 6 episode run in late 1989 with the episode 'Backwards'.

'Backwards' saw the Dwarfer's discover a version of Earth where time itself was running backwards [hence the title of the smegging story !!!]. This story was apparently a headache inducing troublemaker for the people working on it at the time, and they attempted to not make any obvious mistakes when filming sequences that are all later played in reverse order, and while it no doubt did seem like an impossible task, they still managed by some miracle to pull it off.

The really strange thing about this story that just doesn't make sense is how the word BITTER is pronounced in a backwards reality. Naturally, it should be pronounced in reverse as RETTIB, but for some reason, and this just doesn't make any sense yet it ended up in the story anyhow, the word Bitter ends up somehow as what sounds like AIR SKIP !!!.

Anyways, if you don't own the 3rd series of Red Dwarf on DVD, then your in for a treat today, because right here in the entire episode of 'Backwards' . . but played BACKWARDS !! . . so in this case, the main characters are all speaking in reverse, while everyone who belongs to the backwards universe is doing everything and say everything normally like we do in our own little reality [well, almost, there is a odd moment in this version where 2 women in a cafe do appear to speak backwards by accident !].

I hope you guy's enjoys this before Series III, and this very episode, turn 30 tomorrow. Hearing the closing and opening intro music makes it sound seriously bloody strange !!!
