Oo IF you can get a copy of it, Crysalids 8. A series of early 80's SciFi anthology collections. The first story, You are my Sunshine. I have not since been able to hear that song "you are my sunshine, my only sunshine..." since and not think of that short story. Worth the effort to locate really. I think, looking at this, you would really really appreciate the story too :)

Ok, did some googleing and:

Author: Tanith Lee

You Are My Sunshine

Novelette. 9000 words.

On the S.S.G. Pilgrim, Officer Canna finds himself attracted to a passenger named Apollonia. But when he makes an advance towards her, she begins to undergo a transformation that leads to tragic results.

1. Chrysalis 8. Garden City, New York: Doubleday & Company, Inc., 1980. Original anthology. Roy Torgeson, editor. Pages 1-19.

Now, I like this womans short stories. Love them in fact. One of the best short story writters of the last quarter century. Don't like her full novels. Realy, don't in fact. Not read a full novel of hers and enjoyed it yet. :) Odd eh?

Thank you Keeps:) I'll look into this -it sounds familiar... I've also been working on a sci-fi story-been in the works for some time-and this is also an illustration for it- How are your projects going? -oh just a thought: I saw that in Photoshop, when your working in 16bit colour, you don't get all the save options -have to set it to 8 bit...:)

Thank you :)

My final assignment goes in on Tuesday next and is gradded. I already know though that I got a pretty much perfect grade on it :) That photoshop is a pain at times. There is also an option called "flatten" that then also alows the other file formats. I will post the final after Tuesday next. It is not much different than the one you have already looked at.

Um, so, ya, cooool. I am also writting a few stories. I am just very very very slow at it LOL

Sorry for my late reply -yes 'flatten' merges all the layers into one -which has to be the case in file formats that don't support layers - it also destroys transparency in .png's or .gifs -it's good to always 'save as' when flattening so that you don't lose your original.
Slow about writing -lol-you should see me, (like watching a bridge rust...) but it's a great thing to do.
I posted 'Rendevous with Europa' as a print as well-(my first!) and saw that my 3d prog won't output bitmaps really big enough for prints (-cheated a little and expanded it, but that's a no-no.) Do you know any good progs?
I'm keeping an eye out for your post -hope it all went well. :)

I fear that in the long run, I will need to maintain CD roms of all those files. The eps files run 30 meg each and more :omg: I am going to overfill my harddrive with temp and build pics :(
DoctorV23 Featured By Owner Jun 24, 2005
hmm- see your point. Yes eps's are enormous; I always try to avoid this file type and use pdf's which are much smaller and still get good res.(jpeg's at high resolution too.) CD's are handy. (Temp's and build's should be kept in the prog. folder, right?) :)

Um, ya, ya, thats where they should be kept, right... :sprint:

Thank you so much K:) I set up my new print account and this is also my first entry as well-sort of a test launch, because the prints are (happily)more complex than I expected -I was going to do the calendar, but understood that it should have 14 different images(front&back covers+12 months) not just one...but I love that idea and will do it when I can! (I left the default prices for everything, because they seemed okay, but will have to study this more.) I saw your new work and love it:fav:! -will get back to you asap on it...:):)
