There's a monster in schools by doctormo There's a monster in schools by doctormo
This is an image of some penguins in a class room who are learning about computer software and why having the freedom to use, change and share allows for more robust software when suddenly in bursts the traditional windows computer software personification who wants to eat any little penguin that doesn't want to use windows and only windows for the rest of their lives.

The teacher though may know how to vanquish the beast so not to fear little ones, you will be protected from learning biennial and belittling computer technologies!

This image took quite a long time to do, thanks for the original concept art go to ~meglyman whom I commissioned the original sketch from. The sketch is here [link]

Yes, but the more I get older the more I think there needs to be more than just obtuse cartoons. No subtlety here IMO. :-D

Great message though!

It's great when you have parts you can reuse too. SVG is awesome like that.

Minor note: remove the period at the end of the link of the deviation you referenced from (which is at the end of paragraph 3). Otherwise people are deferred to a Deviation Not Found page.

Interesting idea. :P I wonder what Steve Ballmer would be represented as, heh.

Hey - I posted a link to this on FA (when I posted the sketch), and someone was asking if the implication was that Linux is importing Windows bugs. I explained that it wasn't, but I can see how he'd think that, not having seen the progression of the speech bubbles. Just wanted to give you that feedback!

Very interesting, perhaps it can import windows bug via wine. Either way just because we have penguins doesn't mean that their linux.

have you also realised that the teacher-guin kinda resembles the artist? at least i see it anyways :)

indeed a visual representation of Vista wouldn't fit on my 1920x1200 res display ;)

Ah but what about the bowler hat? Hey it's great you have a DeviantArt account Oscillik, although how is your art coming these days?
oscillik Featured By Owner Jan 20, 2008
yes it does require a bowler hat really :p

my art is coming along slowly. although recently i've had plenty of inspiration to go back to my roots (industrial harder sounding stuff) - Jesika broke up with me again. so yeah...i've been working on stuff. i'll email you the link to the latest thing i've got (with some vocals too!)

Sounds harsh, although there are certain sounds in your original CD that remain in my music collection and for which I do listen to. I think getting back to your roots is for the best, although you could do with finding a cute asian rock chick that has great stage presence and even better bed presence.
