Origin The idea for Silent Hill: Promise came to me sometime in 2007 or 2008 while I was listening to the soundtrack from Silent Hill 3, specifically “I Want Love (Studio Mix)”. I ended up spending a lot of time analyzing the song and how it might tie into Silent Hill’s deeper themes and stories. The ideas and themes took shape into a rough outline of Vanessa’s story and her obsession with her uncle.
