The Jester's Guide to Redemption: Chapter 12
Kjell was sitting in Jonas’ office, waiting for his boss to get off the phone. He had entered the office at the scheduled meeting time, but the CEO’s urgent business over the telephone had delayed their conversation. Jonas had motioned for Kjell to stay before answering the phone, so GMS’ chief financial officer was now waiting around awkwardly to find out why he had been summoned.
As he tried not to fidget in the chair, his eyes drifted to a picture of Jonas and Stein that was hanging on the wall. The father and son were on a boat and grinning broadly as they held up an enormous fish that they had caught. Kjell remembered Stein telling him about this fantastic haul several summers ago.
Kjell wondered what Jonas’ favourite things about his son were. What made him care about Stein so much? Was there some trait that Kjell could emphasize to be seen as more like Stein in Jonas’ eyes?
His thoughts were interrupted when Jonas loudly put down the phone receiver. “Ah, now where were
