Until You All Shared Its Magic With Me

Today marks the 4th year since My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic first premiered on The Hub (soon to be rebranded Discovery Family) on 10th October, 2010.

The idea of me liking such a show would not be too far-fetched, but to say that I would be a fan of “My Little Pony” as it was before I first saw it, would’ve been pretty laughable. (Read the rest of the tumblr writeup)

So wute.. you can see Twilight's  Aspergers in this! I am not able to find it right now but Faust said Twilight was implied to have aspergers the way Princess Bubble Gum is implied to be a lesbian!

I was interested in the show in the summer of 2013. I knew that it was popular and had intentions of watching it to see for myself how good it was, and one day I decided to do it. Now it's easily one of my favorite shows, which says something considering that I am an anime fanboy. I started from around the beginning (Ticket Master) and worked my way to catching up to the show's current episodes. I'm just chilling waiting for Rainbow Rocks, season 5, and any other televised material that MLP wants to throw at me.

I got introduces between seasons one and two. The first episode that I ever saw was Sisterhooves Social (I think), and I remember having it pointed out to me as my Little Sister watched. I stared for about three minutes, shrugged like I didn't care, and went upstairs . . . then instantly started stalking the internet for the dates and times in which zI could watch MLP on TV. XD Of course, being . . what? Ten or eleven, I had no clue about Bronies and Pegasisters, or the fact that I could find episodes online.

So, when season two aired, I had no clue. I still remember, quite vividly, being thrilled to discover that there was a new season, and by extend a new episode. So I click to the channel, aaannddddd . . . "This is part two. ಠ_ಠ WTF is going on. ಠ_ಠ Why is there a dragon-lion-snake-monkey thing"

Looking back on it, my raging response to that was quite funny.

I first got interested in MLP around the time between season 1 and season 2 (I knew it was around that time because the Cardinals were also in their run for their 11th championship).

I grew up when the original was around and I hated it. The idea that I would like anything remotely tied to My Little Pony would be outrageous, not even laughable. Before the fanart from FiM in the year it started suckered me into the fandom, if you were to tell me I would become obsessed with MLP I would be more than tempted you beat you into a bloody pulp (my sense of morality would be the only thing stopping me). But nearly three years of the fanart and now one year of watching the show, I have two anthologies of the official comic book, 20,000+ pictures of fanart and screenshots, Mane 6 stickers on my water bottle (that I use at work), 7 t-shirts, a big Derpy plushie, and small plushies of Trixie, Fluttershy, and Pinkie (saw a real large one of Applejack while walking past Build-A-Bear at the mall and was wishing I could splurge on it). I also periodically while working, break into songs from the show (as well as the fan made, Picture Perfect Pony). And now I actually drew me a headshot of an OC of my very own. After starting to watch the show last year I went from a closet Brony to a unashamed, unabashed fanboy.

Lot of people share this same feeling.

But it helps when you already watched the g1 episodes when they were showing it at tv. So nostalgia got me, but I fell in love with it in the first episode. Why? Well, after all those crappy cartoons they show at the television, I saw quality and attaching and smart characters in this one, something lot of them lack.

And still after three years, I still love them very much. Cuteness, friendship and magic helps too.

Beautiful work

Sweet picture! Nice work!  I remember watching this episode and feeling kinda weird that I was watching a cute show for little girls.  I started watching because of the blogs & articles making fun of 'bronies'.  I thought, there must be something to this if everybody is making a fuss over it.  By the time Applebuck season had finished I was hooked!

Even though their name will change, I hope their program lineup stays the same...This is one of my favorite shows on that network!

I watched my first episode(It's about Time) hoping to hear Tara Strong in action and to say I watched it. Almost said No in eight seconds, Spike was having his ice cream/Rarity dream, very glad I did not. Then I saw another(Mmmysrety on the Friendship Express) strong Twilight/Pinkie episode and was hooked after that.
Ponies will be with me for a very long time.
