Dear deviantART... by dxd, journal

Dear deviantART...

Jul 22, 2015

I am refusing to use the rebranded name because, I'm annoyed about the rebrand. I'm annoyed about your direction, your lack of focus in key areas and your lack of communication. I said I'd never be a bitter former staff member, but it seems that I am.Last year you spent a lot of money on a rebrand, this year you've cut 50% of your work force, entire departments have been decimated and peoples lives have been thrown upside down without notice. But you never really communicated to anyone why. You still don't, you're not telling the community what's happening and that's only going to hurt you. People will see that helpdesk tickets take longer...

Professionally, I'm a web developer and designer, versed in Photoshop, Illustrator and HTML5/CSS3. Hit me up if you think I can help.

I don't take commissions on deviantArt. Check out my Patreon instead!

dm29dra.ws: Always has, always will*.

* not a guarantee. On a complete whim this week, I spent a few dollars and acquired a vanity domain for my creative work, designed a layout, and translated it into code in two days (because that's the other thing I'm good at!) dm29dra.ws is my new starting point for links to my social media, monetisation platforms, and online stores. I just needed something better than a Leenkthree but not something I would lose my web-developing soul by using Weex. [DEVIATION] Most notably, and the important part here is that business will be as usual everywhere else. Previews for non-scheduled artwork appears first on my Patreon, then uploaded on Twitter for engagement, and then on deviantArt. Artworks posted on the dm29draws webpage is asynchronous. I'm basically reusing the same files parsed by deviantArt for it. Thank you for all your support and appreciation over the years. I'm not leaving this dumpster, and I'm definitely not changing my cushy, four-character username.

taking the 'dm' out of dm29

Hey y'all. Due to the amount of spam I get in my deviantArt messages, I've terminated that means of communication. I've never really treated this place as a social network site, so my responses are usually late. And thus I'm sorry to disappoint those of you who do. I am reachable on Twitter, and now, Bluesky. I won't entertain requests, sorry. Paid commissions are via Patreon or Ko-Fi. It will help if you get to the point. Don't just say "hi", especially if I do not know you. It drives my social anxiety up the wall. Thank you. Those of you who wish to reach me regarding people posing as me, or who are reuploading my stuff, can do so via Twitter and Bluesky, though there's very little I can do about that since I cannot be bothered with social networks I don't care about. I do not have a Facebook or instagram presence, and I will not have one for the foreseeable future. Thank you all for your continued interactions with my art on deviantArt, and the other networks I'm on. I
