Project: Sapphire is a Sonic based fan story told from the perspective of Blaze the Cat after the events of Sonic Frontiers and borrows numerous elements from the IDW comic canon.   The name "Project: Sapphire" is an in-lore title of the main scientific project that Auria is pursuing but it also is a project effort that is worked on as a community within the Second Life platform.

The project functions as a on-sim experience on a virtual platform meant to imitate a video game styled activity that correlates with the lore.  It also is a presentation for outside observers to follow along through the story that will be shown with art stlyed like the IDW comics, recorded "gameplay", commissioned art that will be set as the official art for the project, and a soundtrack.

My hope is that this could become a real fan game or an animation someday but for now, I hope to share this experience with everyone and I hope you enjoy what we have in store.

     Sonic was born within Riverton Kingdom where his mother, Queen Aleena, ruled for many years.  His siblings Sonia and Manic went their separate ways to get away from the strict society they grew up in and eventually influenced Sonic to do the same.  With his siblings denying their responsibilities, Sonic was the only heir to inherit the throne when the time came. Sonic met Amy Rose who was a member of an esteemed noble family and eventually became engaged.  With Aleena's blessings, they were set to marry and rule the kingdom together.  But Sonic refused the crown and chose to live a life free from rulership and expectations, leaving his mother to pass the crown to the daughter of a family friend, Angelica.

     Sonic and Amy moved away from the borders of the kingdom and settled in the forest within the Huli Dynasty called Wild Falls where they started their own small village.  There, they met an aspired engineer, Miles Prower, a dutiful caretaker, Vanilla, and her daughter with her chao, Cream and Cheese.  After some time, a war broke out between the cabbits and the echidnas and the echidnas joined forces with a human named Julian to take over territories all over Turbine.  With so many suffering due to these actions, Sonic's upbringing to bring justice and protect the innocent lead him and his fiance Amy to form the Freedom Fighters who fought against the echidnas and Julian's campaign.

     Throughout the constant struggle between Sonic and Julian, the Freedom Fighters uncovered the truth about Julian's intentions to the echidnas, leading Julian's once trusted consultant for the echidnas, Knuckles, to direct Sonic a way to Julian's space station aboard the Death Egg where they both had their last confrontation before their demise.

     Afterward, the Freedom Fighters disbanded and they went separate ways trying to find ways to do their part in helping Turbine.  Miles became an inspiration for engineers all over the world and traveled to help more unfortunate communities with his ingenuity.  Amy returned to Riverton Kingdom where she served as Queen Angelica's advisor and eventually became one of her Epsilon Knights of the Round Table.  Vanilla stayed in Wild Falls to take care of Treetop Village until Cream became old enough to take the responsibility.

For a long time, the largest territory of Turbine has been ruled by the hedgehog nation, officially named the Riverton Kingdom.  Since its establishment, it's rulership had always been ruled by hedgehogs and carried itself with noble pride and chivalrous decree. Queen Angelica maintained order within its borders not through fear but respect among her people and with stern discipline.  Her enemies feared her tenacity and might of her military.

After many failed attempts to topple her kingdom, Angelica established what she called the Epsilon Knights of the Round Table.  These elite knights were effective at keeping threats at bay and made a reputation for themselves as Angelica's elite generals.  Since Riverton Kingdom and the Huli Dynasty holds the largest territories, they are consistently at odds with one another.

The citizens of the kingdom have a culture that most highly values ideals of justice, honor, and duty, and are fiercely proud of their cultural heritage.  They believe themselves to be the pinnacle of righteousness and agree with Angelica's ideology that all of Turbine should be held under her rule.

The United Empire

     The humans of Turbine are a very small percentage of the overall population.  Other nations know very little about them and are rarely seen outside of their borders of the United Empire.  None are more well known among the humans than the Robotnik family that ruled the empire for generations.  Over time, the human population had been growing to a point where more land became necessary and the empire sought to expand their territory.

     When the war between the cabbits and echidna's first broke out, Julian Robotnik secretly began his campaign to expand the empire without the approval of the official empress in charge, Empress Maria Robotnik.  Through his campaign, he formed an alliance with the echidnas and with their aid, successfully took over splotches of territory throughout Turbine in exchange for offering support from the empire.

     Julian's brash behavior and selfish tendencies pushed Maria to move forward with her initial idea to help bring the nations together.  She formed a secret operation called GUN to improve armed defenses, spy on other nations to relay information, and to take measures to keep her brother Julian in check.

     Julian's actions eventually lead to his death and Maria moved forward to try and expand her empire with peaceful negotiations.  When Julian's daughter, Eggatha Robotnik, inherited her father's tech industry, she hoped to pick up where he left off but formed an agreement with Maria that she would operate separately from the empire to avoid backlash but if Maria can make peace with the nations before she was done, she would join Maria's initiative.

 Turbine is a story told through different perspectives, comprised of factions and nations and divided by power and pride. It was long ago when the world held the echidna people in highest regard due to their innovations in magic and magitech.  They held dominance over the world as the chosen people of their deity, Chaos, creator of Turbine's source of energy, the Grand Master Emerald.  Some nations rejected this progress in pursuit of their own independent endeavors because they feared that the echidnas' prideful nature would become their downfall.

     When the cabbits arrived to Turbine, they began to spread their influence throughout the planet with their technological innovations.  They quickly established a sovereign position of power and became a threat to the echidna's hold on its nations.  While the echidnas offered progress through magic, the cabbits assured a safer method with their new technology.  What started out as a rivalry turned into a bitter hatred and thus a major war broke out between the cabbits and echidnas.

    As the war intensified, other factions took steps to gain advantages from one another.  Influences hoping to manipulate the war lead to catastrophic events leaving the echidnas to take drastic measures to ensure victory.  They took measures to use their magic to augment the Grand Master Emerald as a weapon against the cabbits only for it to backfire.  The Grand Master Emerald became unstable and started to grow and expand from within the planet, bringing certain doom to its inhabitants.  The echidnas lost the war and were forced into hiding underground while the cabbits took over their mantle of influence.

     Now with Turbine polluted with unstable chaos energy, it is filled with anomalies and power shifts between the nations. The story of Turbine follows the aftermath of these events.
